Your videos are usually pretty good. To further your knowledge, that is not what's separating the oil from the air, that is just a check valve / non-return valve. The differences in air pressure as the engine is revved cause the spring-loaded valve to open and close. The oil separation occurs underneath the valve cover that you pointed to, where there is a multi-chamber oil separator. It utilizes a labyrinth seal to start, followed by 3 cyclone separators. The supposedly clean air then travels through the check valve and into the air intake. The part numbers for the oil separators (1 per cylinder bank) are 11157622487 and 11157601455 for the N63TU. I recently replaced the PCV hose assembly as a preliminary measure, and would like to replace the separators, partly for interest to see what has accumulated in them over the years. When removing the vent hose assembly from the valve cover, I could see enough sediment in the separator to warrant further investigation. It stands to reason that accumulated sediment in the separators would prevent the oil from returning to the crankcase through the designated port, instead getting caught in the air stream and leading to high oil consumption.
My 2018 BMW 430I XDRIVE get this DRIVETRAIN MALFUNCTION, it will not start or turn over? I think it is the battery or starter. No I don't have a scan tool and the car is stuck at my work parking lot for now. Why not starting? Please help
3L I6 engine is the most reliable past 100k miles I'd say. I have a face-lift 2014 730d and runs great. Only issues I have faced is power electric components such as wish screen washer pumps and air compressor issues. Those thing's aren't going to last as long as mechanical components
Hi I have a 2009 bmw 750i I have been getting a Transmission malfunction warning so I took the car to a indy in my area. When the car was first diagnosed it was sending a code that said the shift solenoid C was the problem so I purchased solenoids and transmission fluid, filter and all. My mechanic checked it out and said that it needed fluid. To make a long story short he tested the solenoids all of them were good so he added fresh fluid and a need transmission filter so he did that I went to pick up the car today and it was still showing transmission malfunction. Does anyone know if the transmission needs to be reset for it to work properly with the new fluid and all? Any help will be appreciated Thanks
I have a 2017 BMW 739 li. I called 5 BMW dealers in the USA + BMW Germany. None of them advised to change the transmission fluid. They explained the science behind it very well to me. They just said never touch it. However, you will have to check it from time to time and if the level is low (due to evaporation during heated summer), then you can only top it with more fluid. But never change.
I have a problem with my bmw 740ld 2016 g11-g12 with chassis restricted they find code 4828fd vdp solenoid valve -rear left-plausible error of curent controler and front left after they took computer out they plug again when they check show right rear one did you have this problem? Hello Francisco, I have a problem with my BMW E60 520i 2004. Surprisingly even at idle when I switch it on, it will run, and then after about 10min, generate a transmission fault, without even moving. Sometimes when I switch it off, and switch it one, I get the error "Park P not engaged", with a symbol of a car with two arrows above pointing in opposite directions; and it refuses to start until after some time, possibly it resets itself. Sometimes, I would be driving, and then after sometime, it generates that transmission fault problem; When I put into park, and then drive, it drives in safe mode until I get to my destination, sometimes I dont even get to my destination, it goes into neutral until after some times when it resets. Can you help what could be the problem with this type of behaviour? Thanks
Francisco so i have a 2014 BMW 550i has the 4.4 v8 twin turbos and it was smoking bad only out of the drivers side of the engine i took the pcv valves off and started with the one on the drivers side and it had a little oil in it and i removed the charge pipe off the turbo and it had a little visible oil almost as much as in the video there was a decent amount of oil inside of bottom of the turbo and the back of the turbo thats facing the windshield...... Nothing in the front where the air intake is connected there was a few things missing like the gaskets on the turbo like the back and bottom gaskets and the o-ring on the high pressure fuel valve towards the top was gone and it looks like it keeps oil out of the fuel?
CF19C1 amigo tengo ese error en la transmisión y me dice que tiene pérdida de potencia y que conduzca moderadamente, dice errores del grupo 3 durante la marcha de mi serie 5 BMW podrías ayudarme?
Just changed my Diverter Valve today after months of struggling with low boost, frequent Drivetrain Mulfunction Error Pop up, and the car is driving very smooth now and with lots of boost, it's videos like this that helps, Thanks
So just literally remove the fan and you'll have direct access to the waterpump, but also having to loosen the tensioner correct? Just asking because my pump went out yesterday. I had to keep filling up with coolant but the car not once overheated.
I've been chasing this misfire for my n63 for few months. I have changed coils, on my second set of plugs, about to change the injectors for bank 1, and I have changed both HPFP. One thing i did notice the plugs for bank one were clean, like they had never been fired,. When I checked bank 2, you could tell they had been working. Its the strangest thing, from running just fine to just wont drive consistently. Even did a compression test, all clear there as well.
