Oh... You know who else's book I really enjoyed... Emily Ratajowski, My Body(she narrates the audiobook) OMG... I can't believe I forgot one of my favorite memoirs, Know My Name by Chanel Miller Also, In The Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado is a really well written memoir(it also fulfills your LGBTQ quota) In Order to Live: A North Korean Girls Journey to Freedom by Yeonmi Park is a heart wrenching experience Here's some of my favorite GaY books from your GaY Subscriber, ME... The Hearts Invisible Fury by John Boyne, The Guncle, The Guncle Abroad, CAMP by Lev A.C. Rosen... Don't Cry for Me is about a dad coming to terms with his son being gay(a must on audiobook)... I really enjoyed the Bright Falls Series starting with Delilah Green Doesn't Care... You know, for being GaY, I don't really gravitate to many Queer books 🤷🏻♂
I really enjoyed Jennette McCurdy's memoir, I'm Glad My Mom Died... Didn't know who she was... I was too old for that whole TV Era, but I listened to her narrate her book and it was really good 👍🏽 Also enjoyed the Britney Spears memoir, The Woman In Me I personally really liked UNTAMED by Glenn Doyle... I know it gets mixed reviews, but I thought it had a lot of great quotes 🤷🏻♂
I've heard lots of good things about Jeannette McCurdy's and Britney Spears' memoirs, might have to add them to the tbr. I don't believe I know who Glennon Doyle is or her memoir, I'll have to look into it
I read "Normal People" and "Beautiful World, Where Are You" and did not really like either of them ... I think I was to young, tbh, like in different life stage than the characters and that's why I didn't like them, so I think I'll try "Conversations with Friends" bc it is more relatable for me.

Go to town GuRL and splurge! 📚 Cute OOTD 👌🏽 I don't remember much about Conversations About Friends, but I did give it 4 stars so I must have enjoyed it I don't remember if I gave my final thoughts on Man Called Ove... I enjoyed it(3.75)... I did really enjoy it more once we started with the flashbacks about Ove's tragic life, but had a hard time dealing with his grumpiness... Definitely not my favorite Backman book tho 🤷🏻♂

So I've started Man Called Ove per your Required Reading assignment... I am listening to the audiobook and I will admit that I had a hard time getting into this Backman book. The grumpy old man was a bit insufferable. I even had to restart after about an hour because I felt my mind had strayed. Then I ended up DNFing the 2nd try, but I had no other audiobooks, so I kept going and I really started to enjoy, especially young Ove storyline. I still have 3 hours of audio left and as of right now it's about at a 3.5 or 3.75, but we will see... All the Bear Town books were 5 stars and Anxious People was 4.5 stars so I do love Backman's writing, but perhaps Grumpy Old Men ain't my thing
As much as I love A Man Called Ove I can definitely understand it not being for everyone. I find Ove's grumpiness becomes endearing as you learn of his life story and how the world has changed so much so quickly during his life. But if you don't like him then reading the book is going to be a tough time haha I really want to read Anxious People as my next Backman book, I think I'll love it!

I loved the Bear Town Trilogy & Anxious People, but I've never picked up anything else fro him 🤷🏻♂ Required Reading!?! I'll put the audiobook 🎧 on hold, because I already have too many physical and kindle books to read with my eyeballs 👀 I'll let you know when I've finished my assignment and my thoughts 😉 Oh I have thoughts on annotating... I'm not in school trying to analyze a book so there's NO REASON for me to annotate! I think it's kind of silly when these bookish content creators proudly hold up their books with a 1000 tabs sticking out of it! I think one of these big Booktube/Booktok/Bookstagram girlies started this trend and everyone decided that was the CUTE BOOKISH thing to do 🤦🏻♂ Just read and enjoy the book... Now I will stipulate that occasionally there's A quote or two that I think is worthy of remembering and if it's on my Kindle I'll highlight it... If it's in a physical book, I might stick a tab or sticky note to remind me... So yeah, I think annotating is OUT OF CONTROL 😜 Ok... I'm done being a pain in the butt 😏 Great VLOG btw 🫶
I agree with you about the annotating to an extent. Obviously to each their own and if someone wants to annotate the heq out of their book then good for them but I'm not interested to analyzing every book I'm reading. I liked highlighting quotes that I really like upon a reread though just so that when I reread it again I can be reminded of what I loved the last time I read it. Don't think I would ever annotate on a first read through of a book though. The act of annotating or highlighting really halts the pacing when reading. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on A Man Called Ove!

firstly!!! I love your mug, and the green of that matching set looks so nice with your hair color! I get where you're coming from with sequels/more books coming out in a series decades later, I skipped the Hunger Games prequel for that very reason. I'm very hit or miss on them. I read when the coffee gets cold last year and I loved it!! the magical realism aspect was so well done in my opinion. Throne of Glass is so good!!! It starts YA but by book 3 ish it becomes a bit older. The finale of that series was one of my favorites ever, I understand if you're not in the mood for it though! I'm very much a mood reader and you gotta read what resonates with your heart/vibe at the time.

And I think I’ll still read Throne of Glass at some point, the timeline for that is definitely unclear for now though, I’m too stuck in my romance era haha
I make my spreadsheets in Google Sheets so not sure how it would work in excel if you are using that, but in Sheets you and just have the cell you want selected and go Insert > Checkbox, you do the same action for dropdown (just select "dropdown" instead of "checkbox") and it will open "data validation tools" on the right side of the screen. There you can add all the options you want in a dropdown menu and choose different colours for each. You can apply the same dropdown menu to a range in a column by changing the "apply to range" section. ex. if it says "Sheet1!A2" you can change it to "Sheet1!A2:A!" to have a dropdown option in every cell in the A column starting with cell A2. I hope this makes sense! I actually have another newer spreadsheet video where I've updated this spreadsheet and changed the aesthetic completely and added more data and formulas. I had a few people ask how I made it so I'm working on making a tutorial video that will include an explanation for this as well with a visual aid 😊

I think the next time I’m in the mood for YA mystery/thriller I might pick up The Naturals, I find YA is always good when you feel a reading slump looming because they’re so fun and quick to read Definitely hoping to get to Malibu Rising this summer!
