When i moved to canada, i learned some about the RCMP. they have a rich history to be proud of. They're like the King or Queen's personal bodyguard and elite cavalry, when they visit.
It's so nice to hear all about your life. I think you and Amy are so much alike. I love you on Heartland. When I first watched an episode of the show, I loved it so much that I decided to watch the series, and now I'm hooked. I can't wait for season 18 to be available in the US.
I was a Mounted Ranger for 10 years. RCMP used to invite two mounted officers from each state to ride for two weeks with them In Ottawa. We trained in that arena. One night we ate dinner with our trainers from the RCMP. I gave the head trainer two bottles of California wine. We all had a few. He told me that we had a pretty impressive unit. I told him they were alright as well.. that started a good natured sht talk session. Eventually it got to the point where he challenged me to ride his horse. I said, sure I’ll tune her up for you. He said you couldn’t even get on her. Next day I looked at the horse assignments. I was assigned his horse lol. Went to find her as she wasn’t with the horses we were riding (Percheron’s) found her and some Canadians asked me WTH I was doing. Told them who assigned me this horse. They said that’s a heck of an honor. Long story short we went out to the arena. He announced that I would be demonstrating jumping. Pulled me aside and told me what to do. She took me over the jump 3 times like a Ferrari.. the class clapped. Afterwords he said,”now get off my horse! I have to fix her.” Riding their percherons and getting the best training I’ve ever had was the memory of a lifetime. We rode 3 times a day and once at night if we wanted to. We all wanted to. My skills shot up with that training. Made some good Canadian friends. Started saying ehe all the time lol.

I remember seeing them in I think it was 1976 in Ottawa when all the school boards sent a select few of their bus patrols and student crossing patrols from each elementary school in Canada. It was called Jamboree and introduce school children to parliament and our nations’s capital. The musical ride was the highlight for me well because I love horses.
