Two suggestions. First, the music is very loud, maybe there's a way to tone it down a little? It's very loud compared to your voice during the chatting parts. Second, you could put the champs posters on the wall under your smart tv so you only need one in the room.
I love the way your classroom turned out! It looks very peaceful and welcoming for the students. You did a great job! Are you planning on making a video about what you have planned for the first day, or first week of school? Looking forward to all your future classroom/teaching content!
I’m Going Back to college this year and I’m really excited i started September 5 and I’m still Learning how to drive from driving school and I’m really excited I’m taking business classes this year but i want to take teaching education next year so I’m so excited ☺️❤️😊
Your closet is AWESOME!! I have taught 30+ years, and I have never had a closet that big before!! One word of advice, get rid of the college stuff! Especially any materials not aligned with Science of Reading. I hope you have a great year!
Your room looks great! I'm a veteran 3rd grade teacher, and it is such a fun level to teach. Your closet space is AMAZING!! I'd love that much storage!
I'd leave the drawer blank for now. As you start the year you might find something you are consistently reaching for that you want there, maybe something you couldn't think of now.
Question for americans: with the class library do students borrow the books and read them at home and school until they finish or do they stay in the class for designated reading times?
They stay in the class for designated reading times. We have to provide the books in our library which is why. But we have a big school library where the kids can check out books to take home!
I worked my entire time through college and slowly started collecting things! I also am a first time college graduate in my family, so I had a lot of donations from friends and family! I highly recommend sharing your registry on Facebook because I had people donate that I never thought would. People really love supporting educators and new educators!
I leave my jobs for a month. It lets kids settle into them. It also helps me when my mind gets busy and I forget to change them more frequently, so I change them with my calendar.
Everything looks wonderful. Just a thought I had for the library…maybe have the crates with smaller (lighter) books on the top shelves and the bigger (heavier) one on the lower shelf so the students may only slide them out to the floor instead of having to hieve them down. May help with longevity of the boxes?
I tried my best to organize it that way but the heights of the books at time put me in a pickle! We just had open house and some of my kiddos ended up loving the library!
@@Mrs.W22 yay I am so glad. I taught an afternoon reading club last semester and it was so much fun to spark that reading flame. Enjoy your teaching or school year. You’ll do great, I am sure.
When I was in elementary school in the 1970s I remember forgetting my spelling book three days in my locker and the teacher caught me and took me to the hallway and I got paddled in the third grade.😅😊
Truly loving it! I think the objectives look fine there next to the schedule because it makes it like a student information center sort of speak where the kids can see the schedule and what they’ll be learning. In regards to the blank bulletin board, if you don’t have a spot already for displaying student work, you can probably do it there. Just a thought! 😊
Hi Paige, I’m so glad I came across your channel. I’ve been truly enjoying your videos. Your peaceful and calming presence drew me in. It’s much needed among the chaos 😂 I am also a first year teacher in Central Florida, and I’ll be teaching first grade. Love, love how your classroom its coming along, and that color of the chair and mirror is beautiful. Lastly, wanted to mention a teacher hack in case you didn’t know about it. If you set the laminator to 5 ml instead of 3 ml you are able to laminate two sheets at the same time. This has saved me so much time in the lamination process of ALL the things. 😊 Congrats on your first year! Looking forward for more videos. 💕
Looks very organised and calm. I love that you plan to let the boards stay empty at the start of the year. There's so much evidence that children pay more attention to anchor charts and posters made with the teacher. Not sure what subjects you are teaching, but how about using the spare board as a social sciences and science board for anchor charts? You could split it in two. If not, I would just add a title like: Our Learning and keep it for more anchor charts or posters as the maths and reading boards are pretty small.
I also love have vocabulary cards with pictograms or illustrations up on a wall. Helps all students and really helps children master spelling. Just make sure you don't staple them so you can change them as the year progresses and children master the words. Have a great year.
Thank you for your kind words and advice! My goal was to create a neat and calm room so I am trying my best and trying to not make it overstimulating! I do plan on doing Wow work on my cabinets and then all my boards will be for anchor charts with the kiddos! I am also teaching all the subjects! On my back wall I am going to do a writing board and make that a station, so I like your idea about the science/ social study for the other board!
