Interesting that the album under discussion was never released . Those recordings were abandoned and some of the numbers re recorded as part of 1987’s “ Defender” album . That was in effect the second “ lost “ album . The first being the San Francisco sessions which was eventually posthumously released. The two abandoned sessions sometimes get confused as if there was only one . ( there was two 1977 and 1984). I believe the second sessions were intended to be the “ Torch” album but I may be wrong as sometimes the SF sessions are referred to as “ Torch”. The reference to Jimi is to another indication of why the apocryphal Jimi quote isn’t true . The mythical quote only surfaced about 20 years ago . If Jimi had actually said it - that interviewer would have mentioned it.
Amazing perfornace by Brian May and armenian duduk master Jivan Gasparyan. Peter Gabriel joins them for the Feelings Begin (from the Last temptention of Christ). This is a historical performance....never done before. Only for Mandela
I read this interview with Lou ,which is very interesting. As A keyboard player myself I will check out and hear the song that Lou played on, thanks for the info.
Unfortunately he never made film music! He would have been very good at it, I saw a video in a french studio where they showed a short film to him and he quickly created a nice music even if the stuff on the screen wasn't so interesting
Wir brauchen aber auch Jesus, ganz dringend! Ich verstehe Dich ja, aber der Tod ist so schlimm, aber Jesus könnte was machen. Ich habe Jesus schon erlebt, 1972, als ich 17 war.
Thanks, it was my first ever interview, and we did not have the internet back in those days, so we did not have a lot of background information to help us with the interview
Just love audio interviews, he was so wise and centered in his duty, in his passion, and always transparent, gave detailed answers, so interesting and amusing, and gracious. Rory, what a great guy.
Rick, There no argument about that at all.. I saw Rory play several times in Washington DC in the early & mid 70s & he was an amazing player & person. Any argument about just how great he was just listen to Irish Tour 74 .
@@punchestown82 Thank you! I wish you the same :) ( Super awesome to bump into you here! I always read Karen Joanna's comments around RU-vid. Here we are: Rory's superfans keeping his memory alive ❤🙏🏼)
@@punchestown82 Hahaha I don't really post that many comments... I do give a lot of likes, though :) It's a lot of fun reading comments by people I know on Rory's videos ❤
A wonderful piece of music which I heard performed in the Cathedral on October 23 2017 . All I need now is a copy of the score! I can’t get the tune out of my head
