Ok... So people know everything posted here using common sense. Now answer what are the best tricks to measure forks height correctly and easily? Who gives way to whom when entering/leaving the warehouse/cross section?
Hi John. You would still need to complete the MSQ questionnaire even as a new company, but the bulk of effort occurs when you set up an account irrespective of the start date of your company. New companies will need to report that no history is available in some sections of this questionnaire, but this is not typically a major problem. Once you are established periodic updates would need to be completed. It's a never-ending to do list.
What do they consider 5 years of construction safety experience, meaning if i had a osha 30 for 5 years is that considered experience. I'm a superintendent so my job does consist of safety I'm just wondering if my safety director would have to sign something.
What exactly does it mean by 5 years of construction safety experience? Does that mean 5 years as a designated safety guy? Or five years working in construction following OSHA guide lines?
Driving unloaded Forward = decline Reverse = incline Driving loaded Forward = incline Reverse = decline Resoan behind that CG as triangle known Thank you for informative video
Can you certify people from other countries like Iraq. That industry has a very high demand for that and that’s what I’m looking to get here in the states. Any ideas?
It is possible to conduct courses outside of the jurisdiction of the United States, but in general it is not allowed. There are quite a few conditions that would apply and you almost always need approval. Click the link below in order to see the exact conditions and learn more about how you could possibly accomplish your goals: www.osha.gov/dte/outreach/OSHAOutreachTrainingProgramRequirements-2019.pdf

I would defer to the manufacturer’s written recommendations for safe operation of the forklift in question. The operator’s manual should mention something about the pins.
we all hear about capacity plate on a forklift. How would you know you are lighting a load beyond the truck captivity?Quite simple the rear weel would raise when picking up that load. I Is your fork in all the way in to the back test?these are factors to be consider when picking up a load.(Canada)
Vishnoo Ramdin Hi Vishnoo-technically speaking, an operator should know the weight of the object being lifted to ensure the capacity of the machine is not exceeded. Exceeding the designed load capacity of any forklift is considered unsafe.
Clair Funderburk Hi Clair. No, I wouldn’t help with either really. You would apply to one of the OSHA ATI centers and they’d have you fill out the registration form where you’d “attest” to 5 years experience by checking a box. But, just be sure you have the experience because they occasionally audit folks. I hope that helps.
This guy is wrong. If you pass you can drive anything upto 5000kg. Regardless of make or model. Aslong as it consists to the certificate. Reach/counterbalance etc. This guy is basically saying if you pass your driving test in a astra. You can't drive a peugeot. He is wrong on this point. Ignore him.
Hi Tom. In order to do teach the Train-the-Trainer courses like the 500 series, you'd have to be hired as an instructor by one of the OSHA Outreach Training Institutes (OTI). Usually, the OTIs are colleges, so they look for folks that meet basic adjunct professor standards, but not always. You can reach out the Director at your local OTI to see if they are hiring. I do know that it's competitive to become an instructor for the 500 series albeit not impossible. I'd like to do it myself at some point too.
Hi Tom. OSHA doesn't pay you...you pay them. You can do either of the following: (1) have open public courses and charge each participant a fee or (2) do private classes for employers for a fee. Then, OSHA OTI will charge you $8 per card. For example, 10 people will cost you $80. Plus, it costs you a couple grand to get your OSHA authorization in the first place and two weeks of your life doing it. OSHA just allows you to be "authorized" which just means that you are allowed to teach 10/30 hour courses because you are a trainer. You can check out www.outreachtrainers.org to see what other trainers are charging in your area. Remember, if you do this for money, you'll owe for taxes, insurance, admin costs, etc., so I would recommend not being one of those unorganized guys who tries to beat everyone's pricing just to get the job. I've turned plenty of work away because everyone wants rock bottom prices...and it's expensive to do this. No one ever went out of business for charging too much! I hope this helps.
This man is very informative, kind and actually gave a hoot about my future well being. I strongly suggest giving him a call or emailing him, he has a large amount of information!!!
Thanks for posting! I'm a bit confused though...both you and the OSHA website say 5 years experience is a pre-req, but I just witnessed someone with absolutely no experience get their certification.
Morel Williams Yup, it's something that people check the box on without realizing that they're attesting to 5 years experience under penalty of perjury. And, without experience, it is hard to answer questions and present the material well. I can always tell when a trainer lacks experience. Thanks for watching! 😀
@markuswesaw Love your videos, I'm an electrician, and I would love to acquire the 510 and 500 certifications. I was wondering how can I attain this without having 5 years of safety experience.
Markus: thanks for providing this great resource and for not making it into a commercial like the "other guys". Sent you a request through linkedin. I am a new Risk Management Analyst and found this information very valuable. Thanks!
Hello Ejaz, sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but the link to the handouts has been updated in the description above. I hope that works for you. Thanks, Markus.
