The M39 was not only used in the Korean war. There is footage from the Ghost Army and they used them together with M3 Halftracks for Sonic deception and used during operation Viersen in Germany . Only because the Ghost Army was declassified since 1996 and In February 2022, members of the Ghost Army were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal, citing their unique and highly distinguished service. The use of this secret Unit and the use of these vehicles is not well known because of that. Your comment is based on Wikipedi 'knowledge'. 1968. Warbonnet Raceway, Sunray DX Grand Prix. I was a corner worker where I saw a Porsche 904 race against a Corvette , a Cheetah (it was blue) and other sport racers. I was stationed at turn 12. In the pits was none other than James Garner. Great times those. Just had to share my memories.
The Tiger II was not a good tank. The engine was too small, the final drive was a disaster, it cost a tottering Germany far too much to build, and it was beyond the capabilities of German crews. It had some successes, but overall it was a burden.
Magnificent effort to arrange such a turnout of so many period vehicles of all types. Sad I missed the sounds and smells for real. Rarest there has to be the Albion CX22S.
This must be the biggest collection of rolling ww2 material. I saw all this material 5 years ago in arnhem and it was super impressive. Must be costing a shitload of money to maintain and to drive these things. Thanks so much for all the effort they do to show us all these beautiful things.
great footage....not many times you find so many British period vehicles together. Can almost see XXX Corps starting to move up the road towards the bridges.
🎖️⭐🙏🏆❤️🩹 Fantastic. Going back in time, just chilling. So much was at stake. The struggle, the fear for the future future, the tragedy and loss of soldiers and their futures, and the resulting peace and freedom 🛐 Thank you for sharing this
Good video!!! Do not think I have ever seen an M39 before. Or, if I have, never really paid any attention to it. THANKS!! for just focusing on this vehicle.
I can't believe they put a radial airplane engine in a Sherman tank. That's wild and you can clearly see they did what they had to do to make it work in WWll
The bren gun carrier is questionable enough , as far as how usefull it was , but that thing ? At least the bren gun carrier was small , and manouverable . I take it they didnt build many ? Troops recieving it , probably asked " whats it good for ? " " No , send it back , and give us a Sherman , or an ARV "
Dude, it is basically an stripped down m18 hellcat, able to go 80 km/h! As mentioned in the title, it is an amored utility vehicle, basically providing logistics for the army (ammo carrier, etc). It was not meant for the same roles as the bren gun carrier, so your comparison is not reasonable.
