I'm wanting to play music files from a thumb drive to an older stereo that has only RCA inputs. I'm assuming a display device will be needed, tablet, laptop or similar. My friend didn't even tell me what audio format the files are. WAV, FLAC, - IDK. I assume most devices has built in DA capability but they can be upgraded with better outboard devices. Any help will be appreciated. The small, isolated town we live in barely has quality IT techs. I drove 120 miles to look for turn table help and was steered to Colsey equipment. That was the high end in western WA. Sad. Thank you.
The connector shown in the video is a crimp-on variety, which has been around for years & years. Having worked in a Central Office setting for over 20 years, I've found it all too easy to either not have the center pin fully seated onto the center conductor when crimping...or...have the center pin break off while being crimped. In both instances, the end of the cable has to be cut off and the process repeated. There are compression BNC connectors that are applied in a manner similar the familiar "F" connector. The installation requires fewer steps. With compression connectors having largely supplanted crimp connectors, do crimps provide any real advantages over compressions? 🤔
Thank you for your comment. Choosing between crimp or compression connectors for coaxial cable(BNC or F Pin) largely comes down to personal preference. If cost per connector is of major importance, crimp connectors are more cost effective. If ease of use is more important to you, our customers find compression connectors easier to work with. I want to split the signal to run input to 2 receivers at the same time why just run one unit if you have several receivers and a grip of speakers why not run 2. I worry that it will tax the phone or that they both will get crappy input and the music quality will be weak and sound bad. SIR WHAT SAY YOU
i have crimping tool but not the cutting tool, always used box cutter. this time i used the twist terminal. i cut the cable plastic sheath 1/2" then 1/4" to allow me to twist it on. happy with the results work great. Thanx Bro' for the video 5 years and still helpful *cerveza for you* 🍺
Awesome video thanks. I would need a 8/10 metre LAN CABLE TO GET TO MY TV. would it still be a better signal. As lots of times the tv is buffing and not clear pictures
Thank you. I needed a quick or temporary fix. AT&T has to come out and rework the wiring because the network jack is pulled from the wall. I tend to fail with home improvements projects and was surprised once I purchased the punch down tool how easy it was. The first time nothing. Rewind the video to watch you use the tool again and that’s when I heard the click. I was not applying enough pressure. YES! Success. Thank you.
