In this channel I share cold process soap making videos. These videos are of soaps that I make and sell at my website store.
I have a passion for creating cold process soaps, not only because they feel amazing on the skin but also because it is an opportunity to be creative and hopefully create a piece of art that is also a practical product that is also a consumable with very little waste. I also love the science (chemistry) of the process. It is very exciting to me to create new recipes and try new recipes. I am always looking to learn and improve and I will share all those learnings and improvements on the process on this channel.
I've learned a lot by watching other soapmaker's videos and I want to share my process so you can learn or just enjoy watching the process.
If you are inspired, or learn a new technique, I appreciate if you let me know in the comments.
Hello, I am assuming that you are asking about the fragrance oil I added. The vendor from where you purchase the oils should be able to provide the IFRA values for soap (class 9). This should give you the maximum you can use, however, it is not recommended to use more than 3-5%. For most of my soaps, I use 5% of the total weight of the oils.
Hi Daysi, I am so glad you liked the soap. A few things I do to avoid soda ash are spray rubbing alcohol on the surface of the soap and then covering it with a cardboard box, sometimes I add a towel over the box as well. I hope this helps!
This is good to know about it accelerating but it turned out amazing. I was getting ready to make a loaf using this fragrance. This happens to me every time I use Coastal Waters by Midwest Fragrance Co. BUT it rices on me as well. I started adding the FO after everything has been mixed in. Since it rices I have to use the blender with speeds up trace as well. Its almost soap on a stick! Its such an amazing fragrance that I will still keep making it and dealing with the ricing and acceleration.
Thank you. It is a lovely scent. I am so glad you have a plan for these accelerating scents. I love using them as well, but it does require some planning and fast action.
Hi Kathy, I just used the small circular one one put the circles together to get these flowers. Thank you so much for stopping by and I am so glad you liked this soap.
