I do similar thing but I used play sands ...I save a lot of money, I rescue stray cats and now I have 6 of them, it's so expensive just use crystal so I try play sands and put on regular litter box ( not for scoopfree litter box tho) and my cats love it

I’m missing Felix so much.. I’m so heartbroken for him getting outside in the middle of the night and coyotes were right there… I almost got a divorce over this, but my husband is very ill and it was the one night that I got up out of 12 years. The first time I got up and went to the living room to watch TV and Felix was upset that I wasn’t in bed and he kept bugging my husband.
I put the scooped crystals in a 5-gallon pail, insert the hose, and repeatedly fill and decant until the water is clear. That takes about 20 gallons of water, but it goes on my plants. Then I put the litter in pillowcases, dry in the sun and finally cook it in an electric skillet at 350 F with a loose lid to drive out the remaining moisture. At that point, it is completely dry and sanitized. To speed the sun drying, I cover the bags with an old glass shower door to trap the heat and keep rain off.
That is 100% NOT a funnel cloud, not even close. Zero rotation in the clouds. This is just good ole capillary action, the storm is simply drawing the moisture from the ground.
