i don't think you can say it never took root if you see their ministries, especially people like Brady Goodwin. and have you read his book? it's well written with good argumments. you can say they might have been very into religion and truly believed it but where not born again, but that is ad hoc. you are assuming the point at issue. when you say they left because they were not from us then you're always right, AFTER the fact. also if you read the book or see some of his content you know it was a real struggle for him, not just because he wanted to sin or whatever. this video is a cheap shot imo.
@@daviddivad777 I read his book when it first came out and challenged him to do a live debate. His objections are very old and have been answered. He was just looking for excuses to continue making his movies
@@Christcentric7 i did not know that. respect for both actually reading the book and challenging him to a debate, I would love to see that. I doubt how it could be all old objections though, since, for example the last years the genetic component of evolution has made a lot of progress. and even though I am still a Christian I think evolution is a huge problem for some doctrines and concepts. not to mention textual criticism issues (epic of Gilgamesh being older and similar to Genesis motives and the linguistics and historical arguments for the case that the prophecies in Daniel were written after the fact). like I said I am still Christian, for over 20 years and have been listening to both your music, I just am a bit put off by how quickly Brady is dismissed and personal shots are taken by many Christians.
@@daviddivad777 I read Peter Enns 25 years ago and other liberal scholars which I can’t remember their names. I’m just not convinced about evolution and the data they provide as well as textual criticism. My conclusion is that the Bible is reliable and there are answers to common objections to the old and New Testament.

I’m still reformed - or I guess you can more specifically say I’m a particular Baptist (so whether I’m “reformed” for real may be debated by some) I think you miss what I’m saying. I’m speaking more to reformed “culture” than reformed theology itself. Also, the majority of my brothers and sisters are also reformed in our theology and so is my church. Idk if I have the time to respond in a video but this hey! You can always hit me for more clarity. My response was also in the context of something that was happening on Twitter in light of tweets from a crowd of reformed folks. You’re missing that in what you address. More and More I realize, social media and podcasts are not the standard of truth nor the first option to pick for encouragement or tools for growth. Too many voices, and we all have so much maturing and learning to do. While I have at times enjoyed their podcast, I confess that I myself have PRIMARILY blamed folks on the internet for how I view people that are reformed. Real life, walking with people, and taking the time to get to know them is so much better than trying to get along with or know people on the internet. I too have generalized. I am happier without social media. (Facebook, Twitter, Etc.) Ima keep youtube though lol

@@ameenhudson4372 it wouldn’t surprise me, you know how it goes on the internet. I think he made some good points, but I also get your frustration. If we prioritized being marked for our love and patience for one another before being reformed in online circles or groups on facebook etc, it would make for a better time.
