The FPVWRA is a startup organization with the intention to organize and promote FPV Wing racing in a safe and orderly fashion. We are an assembly of FPV pilots. Some are racers, some are organizers. All are obsessed with FPV wings.
I know this is a few yrs old now… the only file is a pdf zip file. Is there a file (.dxf etc.) I can dump right to my laser? Also, I don’t see the motor mount file. If anyone has both, I’d love a copy!
seems like an easy build , one thing not mentioned anywhere is the scale of the printed plans or what paper size they shoudl be printed on. Flite test includes a scale on theirs so you can zoom in and out and find the sweet sport to print it . Does anyone have any info on this ?
Sure would like to start some micro wing racing, especially with great Analog and light HD video becoming affordable. I'm not sure why the WRA seemed to fissile except the by the overwhelming whoop and freestyle wave. Wings are just so much simpler yet still an exciting ride and competition.
This is dollar tree foam board/readi board. The sheets come 20 inches by 30 inches with a thickness (with the paper lamination still on both sides) of 4.5mm.
Hi... Is a grand turbo gt2215/10 (kv1100) motor good for this wing? Or a cheap A2212/6T (2200kv) motor better... Got this cheap from AliExpress... And a 30A esp... what do you advice?
Probably a stupid question but how do I use these files without a laser cutter? Do I print the PDFs? If so what size paper, A1? I can't imagine many people having an A1 printer
There should be an option to print tiles. If not you can take it to a print shop and they can print it for a couple bucks. Although if I were to go through all that I would just take the dxf files to a makers space and laser cut them. And you should only have to print out one if you print them. As they should be symmetrical. Print out one template and just flip it over for the opposite wing.
Thank you for sharing the plans for the wing. I love this wing, she fly very great! Here is a video of her flight: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iK82fTuhMCI.html
great video and thanks very much for sharing, this will be my first wing as im a complete noob, what thickness of foam board should I use thanks again from the uk
Dollar tree foam board/readi board. Panels come 20in by 30in with 4.5mm thickness with paper laminate still attached. Foam should be extruded polystyrene (XPS)
Good work Alex! ive been looking for a foam board sports wing, im a big fan of FT but theyre wings arnt what i was looking for , yours looks complete and tough, wish me luck printing the plan on my home printer.
Ok everybody im asking for help here ive been working with this plane for about a month now n im having pitch control issues not unstable just not vary responsive in the pitch axis if anyone has had a similar problem or may know why i am please let me know i would love to get racing with it thanks
@@trekkifpv1976 duh-oh donuts!!! Analog servos tend to be slow, especially with small control surfaces.... Is it possible to try corona ds939mg? You'll love them!!
Nice informative vid. Would have been more helpful if there were close up shots of what you were gluing/putting together instead of watching you from a mile away. Perhaps you could ask a bud to hold the camera for you next time you do this?
@@jhbuxton4 So is the sport dead? I clicked on the link and there is quite literally nothing there. You click on the link for tech inspection and it says to click on the updated rules for 2018 (First red flag: no update in four years). You click on that and it says to click on the 2018 rule book. So I clicked on that and it is giving links to the other two which went nowhere.
Hi ibcrazy, thanks a lot for sharing this plan and even more the idea!!! but could you get it touch via flitetest forum with SPONZ and let him have a look at the plans, the community nower days has just "higher" expactancies (this is not a complain, only an idea) and maybe even publish it the over him to grow the wing racing in the flitetest familie. Do you got any sugestions on how to mount the fpv stuff? i really liked my ft arrow that had some slots for the rx and vtx. Keep up your great work!!!
He already has my files and is making an "official" tiled file for this airplane. As four mounting, just cut a notch out of the nose fot eh camera and a box for the video transmitter somewhere in the wing. There is a lot fo room for stuff on this one.
Well, you’re no Josh Bixler but good work Alex. Thanks for the plans. We’ve had several requests for a foamboard SPEC wing in our group. This should be a nice Segway for the guys that started with flight test but are interested in Spec racing.
no usable plan was able to be downloaded. The only thing was a pic that was not in a flat configuration with no measurements. I will need a tiled file as I have to hand cut.
How do I make a tiled file? There should have been 2 dxf files in there which is a CAD file. If there is another format in which I can export it so you can cut it by hand, let me know.
no need for tiled... although it would make it a little easier... use adobe acrobat reader, goto print > set page sizing to poster > check mark cut marks > leave tile scale at 100%... it should print out with the cut marks on it which will let you get them put together cleanly....
@@markthomas3853 I am still concerened that the plan is not in a flat pic and that will make the vertical shorter than it needs to be. I do thank hyou for the directions and itt worked fine. I am going to go ahead and print it out and I guess just measure to see if it will fold over long enough.
