Thank you so much!! So glad you enjoyed the video, I'm writing up EVERYTHING for the Fjords so it'll be a long one ✨ if there's any specific questions you have let us know and we'll be sure to add those in 🙌 So excited for you to cruise next year, hope you have an amazing time!!
Aww thanks. We are a family of first time cruisers ( have wanted to do this for years!!), with myself, husband and 2 adult sons one of whom is a wheelchair user. Have chosen this type of holiday as it should give our sons a bit more independence and they can’t get completely lost 🤞Info on accessibility is always useful and 3 of us are also vegan so very specific needs!! We are not fussy though and will just be going with the flow. X
Hard to believe our first cruise videos are done!! Sarah couldn't resist the Norwegian Fjords though so I'm working on the videos for that cruise which you'll hopefully see soon ✨ Be sure to subscribe to see more videos from us ✨ Thank you for all the lovely comments and support so far it means the world ❤
Great overview - I'm yet to cruise on these huge P&O ships, but I'm already completely sold - everything just seems such great quality. Thanks for taking us out there with you!
Thank you so much! We’re glad you liked the video ✨ we’re excited to cruise more - trying our first royal Caribbean soon! Are there any companies/ships you’d recommend?
@@SarahKateTravel amazing! To be honest, I like to keep my options open - I’ve yet to find a cruise line I didn’t enjoy! I also have a channel that shows you onboard - it might be useful if you’re shopping around! 😊
Thanks!! It’s great how they have so many different performers and musicians on the ships - we always hope there’ll be a comedian on board for our next trip ✨
Hope you are well. I visited you RU-vid channel and your video-making is very good. Your content ideas are very good . Thank you so much.❤️🥰 ❌ Video is not SEO, video SEO now 100% views will be
✨Rotterdam was our FAVOURITE port, we'd love to visit again -- the Water Taxi was like a theme park ride itself 🤣 is there anything you think we missed out on?
Great review. Iona is a great ship. I went Norway on her but did the Northern Europe tour on Aurora 😊 The Quays we're my go to dining for breakfast and daytime (plenty of chicken consumed by me) Epicurean afternoon tea was truly divine, i hope you enjoyed it
Thank you so much! Really glad you enjoyed the video ✨We loved the Quays and afternoon tea too - definitely worth the extra charge! We haven’t been on Aurora (yet! 😂) but who knows what the next year or two has in store 🤞
@@SarahKateTravel Aurora is a lovely little ship with a lot of character. Iona is big and grand so they both have amazing qualities. I'll be going on Brittania this year too so a new ship to tick off.
Nice video, thanks. You can walk into town from the cruise terminal but it is a fair walk. Going via the Elbe tunnel takes approx 1 hour 15 mins to the town hall and is a really nice trip if you're active, you get to see a lot of the waterfront area on that journey once through the tunnel.
I've just booked this cruise yesterday, I'll be going in December to see all the Christmas markets, I'm definitely more of a planner as there's always so much to see! Thanks for the videos 😊
So exciting ✨ Sarah’s a planner too so we like to know all our options 😂The Christmas markets look amazing (glad you’re enjoying the videos!) hope you have a great time in December! ✨
You have the beginnings of a fabulous channel here guys, and we are proud to be your latest Subscribers on that journey. We look forward to to further instalments of your Iona cruise videos, and all the future travels and voyages that you capture and present on your channel 👍😃
Thank you again!! We’re really looking forward to sharing everything we’ve done so far (I confess I’m a little behind on the editing in comparison with the trips we’ve taken - and a few more are coming up this year which is exciting!). We’ve been blown away by the response so far and we’re thrilled you’ve enjoyed the videos ✨ we have a Sunday upload schedule for this series before we start on editing our next adventures 🙌
You've really packed so much into this 3 minute video, and all of it has captured your eating experiences on board with great photography, and the ship, and great advice that we haven't seen in many other vlogs about Iona (such as the reminding people that the ship interior is a warm space even in winter)
Thank you so much!! We’re glad you enjoyed the video, really means a lot ✨since Sarah’s the more experienced traveller I usually have a LOT of questions which helps show the different perspectives - that and I want to know absolutely everything 🤣
Fabulous. What a really well filmed and edited vlog, with some great insights and detailed information that anyone taking a first cruise on Iona would value and appreciate knowing. Great video Sarah & Kate. Entertaining to watch AND informative 👍 (More people should see your work here, and that could be helped if you put hashtags in your video description i.e. #iona #pandocruise etc. Just a kindly thought/tip)
Thank you again for your lovely comment - for this one Sarah did the filming and I've been doing the editing, really means a lot that you've taken the time to let us know you enjoyed the videos 🙌 and thanks for the tips! We've added a few # to the descriptions at your suggestion :)
We found the service on the Iona very poor when we traveled to Norway in 2023. Some of the entertainment was very Karaoke too. This ship was nice and new but looking as though the interior had been designed by IKEA. Bland! Hopefully things have improved.
Wow! Thanks for sharing 🙌 When we went in February 2023 we felt they were a bit understaffed - everyone we spoke to was lovely but it was clear they didn't have a big enough team to manage it all. Some things were a bit hit and miss for us but found it easier to eat at off-times and tried a lot of the paid places. Since it was our first cruise we didn't have anything to compare it to and (spoiler!) went again in August for the Norwegian Fjords cruise which we enjoyed but did feel the entertainment wasn't quite as good as it was for Northern Europe. For the price we paid we weren't expecting anything spectacular but it was all clean which was good enough for us! We're looking forward to checking out other companies to see how they compare -- are there any you'd recommend?
DAY 1 ON IONA 🚢 -- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yiYbz3e-rrM.html Thank you for your support so far!! We reached 100 subscribers 🎉 Let us know if there's anything you'd like to see and we'll add it to our list!🙏
So excited for you all to see the rest of the trip AND all the other trips we went on last year! ✈ Lots of exciting things planned for this year too (a trip to Germany, a weekend cruise and possibly a trip to the US!) We really hope you enjoyed this video and subscribe if you want to see more videos from us ⭐ If you've got any questions, leave a comment!
We had really mild weather which we didn't expect at all but it's best to be prepared with layers just in case and a raincoat/waterproof since it did rain on a couple of days! Best to check the weather forecast before you leave in case there's any abrupt changes, hope you have a lovely time!
Think it terrible that so much is extra charge. P and O charge much more for their cruises so the least they could do host an afternoon tea. They now have made The Olive Grove extra chsrgeable too!!
It really depends on what you want to do or if you're happy with what they offer. The Olive Grove should be booked on the first day since it's super popular - but it's free! From what we remember the only extra charges on their menu were for Baklava and fries which were only £1 or so extra. The main dining rooms, buffet and Quays are all included so plenty of options there. BUT we do love to try new things so really wanted to give the other options a go - what helped with the extra cost was to book before we went since there are sometimes discounts for pre-booking (booking opens 2 weeks before your sail date!) Sindu was our favourite 'extra' restaurant we tried. Hope you enjoyed your time on board if you've been already!!
So there’s entertainment on board - shows, singers, sometimes there’s a comedian. There’s a cinema, spa, hairdressers, lots of pools and hot tubs. Really depends on what you like! Then there’s excursions when you have port days and they can be anything from walking tours to extreme sports depending on the port! :)
We're currently working on the FULL cruise video. Really excited to share this, and more, with you soon!! Do you have any MUST-HAVE items when cruising?
