Aircraft carriers have always been named for US Presidents and/or US battles won. This is a break from policy and tradition. Doris Miller has had other non military buildings named after him.

It really depends on what you rates as best? Is the most range the best? Cause the american GBI has 5000 kilometers of range. If you talk about the most tested and most reliable, that is the iron dome. The s400 isn't the best. According to the definition of a ship only boat carriers are real ships. 2 current boat carriers can lift an aircraft carrier out of the water. Since there's 8 boat/ship carriers we only have 4 ships. Look at the definition. A boat is any craft that can be lifted onto a ship.
