Hello, first of all, thank you for this useful video and secondly, I had a question about SMITHSONITE, that in the laboratory they pour acid on this mineral and then pour the second solution on the same part and the mineral turns red in that part. Can you please tell me what these solutions are and why they cause this color?❤❤❤

what would you do different if you did this again - it seems like there should not be anything that makes it better. Perhaps the intervals the weight is dropped or the number of holes?

Assuming the world is "round" (a sphere), and that sun-rays are parallel means, that you have to prove these assumptions first, before assuming anything from these assumptions! You cannot prove anything from unproven assumptions! You failed to prove the circumference of your imaginary globe, because of the fail of proving the globe even exist! A sad case of indoctrination!

Do you 'know' or assume a flat earth? If you 'know' would you consider sharing with us the empirical evidence supporting the flat earth?
@John_Who
@John_Who Месяц назад
@@marcg1686 "Do you 'know' or assume a flat earth?" I know, that this world is oriented horizontally, and is completely stationary! - I do NOT use the term "flat earth" anymore! "Earth" is, what you call the so called "planet", which you think, you live on! And "flat" is often associated with smooth flat, not level flat, and that makes the use of that word misleading too! The evidences, are the facts of this world, which clearly shows us, that we do NOT live on a "globe" shooting through a vacuum of "space" in 3 different directions at once, at incredible speeds, while rotating. There's exists NO evidence of such an impossible unrealistic reality!

At local apparent noon the shadow cast by the Sun is at its shortest. In Syene the Sun casts no shadow at LAN, in Alexandria you would measure the shadow every few minutes before and after LAN. The shortest shadow is the one you would use to calculate the angle.

@@yuminghu No. At local apparent noon the shadows will be at their shortest. At any longitude anywhere on the globe. On the June solstice the change in declination for the whole day is 0.2 minutes.

How tall is your 4" PVC? Could you explain the locations of the air vents?
@TMartScience
@TMartScience 6 месяцев назад
The height was dictated by the competition rules. We used as tall as permitted. The vents were located to release air on the drop. If you cut too many holes, you can always patch them with something like packing tape. You have to experiment and see what works best

What would would happen if we didn’t use the vent holes on the side of the drop chamber? Would that be a reason for the ball not going as far as it should be going (2nd design)
@Uman_i

Vent holes allow the weight to drop fully, if there were no vent holes, then the weight wouldn't be able to go all the way down the drop tower due to compressed air building up underneath it.

hi there! I’m using a pretty similar design to the second one in that i have a mass holder (I 3d printed) sliding down the main PVC tube acting as a piston. The issue is, it just doesn’t fire the ball near far enough (maybe a m or two?) I think it’s because there is friction, so I am going to grease everything up, but how different in size was the mass thing vs the inner diameter of the pvc? i think mine is getting caught on the wall and slowing down so the ball doesn’t really fire much at all! Thank you for all the help
