The Ebike has helped me after having a difficult two years with a total knee replacement of my left knee. It has become the main topic here at Russ Is Right although I do still make the occasional Knee Replacement video. Here is our current schedule: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays are Ebike videos, but I can take a day off here and there. Mondays are "Anything Goes" videos where I talk about anything I feel like talking about. I also offer my latest health update as well. Thanks for finding my channel and I hope you will subscribe and watch me several times per week! - Russ
Yea right -- at that price - it should be getting at Least 50 miles - as it is Very easy to do up 25 - 35 miles one way for us more Real Bike riders - and then we could coast back home when tired out - and that is us older punks doing that small of a ride - you city slickers that just kinda show off - only need 5 miles or so --- they call that Illusional realities of Grandeur - i do believe -- and a REAL bike rider -- wouldn't be caught dead riding an Electric "girls bike" -- as they are called in their circle -- ahahahahahaha - even though these are real facts - they are intended as joke statements -- my wife is a city slicker -- she can only do about 3 miles before giving out - the dealer's even laugh at how little electric bike riders actually ride -- ahahahahaha - I am Very Disappointed at just how much the company's Cheat us just for Money - the battery's are insanely priced - and they Already know how to make them Better - these will only show up after they make enough money off the Cheap ones though -- a true shame it is --
Something to do: Assemble a jigsaw puzzle. Since I like bicycles, I choose a puzzle with a bike in the image. Keeps this old retired guy busy, and out of trouble😁
Seems a little “boxy” to me but you’ve got a cold and I’m sensitive to that range. Some engineers suggest making a cut around 190Hz to separate the lows from the mid-range. I can make a tight Q-factor as needed but like you I don’t like the extra time in editing. My mic will drop the signal really low when the signal is below a certain dB input. I’m certain this is due to the noise reduction. I turn the mic off when I need to get environment sounds and use the voice over from a different clip. Sometimes I add in my own music other than the intro and outro.
I just had another thought. Even if this audio gear isn't your main setup, take it along mounted to the bike, so when rude people say snide remarks you will have a clear copy to add to your videos, spice it up a bit on the drama side ,LOL. :)
Hi, Russ. Another great video. Hope your feeling well soon. I was thinking back over some of your older videos and seem to recall an older intro with you racing through the aisles of some kind of a store. Then I remembered you doing some kind of food review on fast food, etc. You've come a long way. Keep it up. Cheers!
Yes, my into in the past was a sped up version of me going through a Bass Pro Shops store! Now it a sped up version of me riding through the forest preserve.
It ALL looks and sounds great. Thanks again, Russ. You are RIGHT! We used to have family in Arlington Heights & I think I might have recognized areas you ride some times. I am almost 73 yrs old and semi-retired for 14 years. I now work recruiting and conducting video interviews. We have an Amazon contract and we hire for our Amazon delivery driver positions in the Kansas City, Mo. general area. Congrats on the weight loss. Due to exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam, among other issues, it destroyed my pancreas and thus, I have been a Type 1 diabetic for the last 50 years. I've been on a Medtronic insulin pump for about 10 years, so no more multiple daily injections. I have been riding E-bikes for 8 years & we ALL need to stay active, always. It not only will help with your weight, but it helps your core strength. When we sit down, we always need our muscles to get back up. We all really enjoy your videos. Keep riding and stay safe.
Russ you sound great. I envy your weight loss . We are no experts but we invested in DJIA action camera and Mike . We are very happy with our investment. Thank god for Affirm. lol
I plan on retiring at the end of the year so I'm trying to plan out activities to stay busy, one of the reasons I purchased an e-bike. I don't see anything wrong with the new sound set up, nothing wrong with adding the sounds from your environment, it doesn't drown out your voice.
As long as you're healthy and happy, who cares what you weigh? You'll figure out the sound issues, you're a pro. Agree with most of the other stuff you said and video looks good as usual.
Preference is in the eye of the liker, or was it the beholder, ah yes beauty....Edit i thought this was gonna be a screaming advert can you hear me now?... i still Liked your HP update at least though... forgive my sarcasm, i loved the original Russ. As for me that screaming Motor, gives my tinitus epic shit !
I have 2 commuter style bikes. They are so comfortable to ride no shoulder elbow or wrist pain from being hunched over! And of course step thru frames because I have bad knees!
Good that the weight loss battle continues to be successful while still enjoying some hot dogs and pizza occasionally. I think as long as you watch the quantity you will still see results. Yes, I agree with some comments as to the voice quality being less rich sounding, I think that you should do what you have to do to make it easier for you. 👍👍
I think the sound quality of your voice is good. I do notice a little more background noice. Your voice is the most important. I also noticed the picture is better. Is very level. Looks good.
I agree that the video is at a good angle. Sponge to the rescue! It took me several videos before I ended up deciding what audio settings to use. You will probably do a tweak or two between now and when you decide it is how you want it. Hopefully, it will help you with your video editing which is not as fun as riding a bike and talking to us.
Congrats on the weight loss journey. Keep going slowly like you're doing, good strategy on your health. The crisp trebles sound more pronounced and a bit more radio-like. Although, the off-road tire noise is obviously more noticeable as well
Under the weather an idom for feeling unwell. Might have come from people that when weather changes to a storm they could feel it and felt bad before the storm. (who knows). or from sailors that went below deck to protect from bad weather when they were puking.
A lot of times in my rides I will do voice isolation between 18 and 20%. It’s just enough to make the cars going by you not quite as loud and if you have a bike with loud tires, it kind of softens that also.
Combination of voice isolation and noise reduction is what i do for the fat tires and road noises. Sometimes only need one or the other, sometimes need both
The channel started before the knee surgery. It was a way for me to record myself so that in the future, my daughter would remember how her dad looked and sounded like if anything were to happen to me. But then the knee replacement happened and it turned into a knee replacement channel. And as we know, the ebike was purchased to get my knees moving and to get better. Had I not had the knee surgery, I still would not have been able to ride the bike. The torn meniscuses on each knee prevented me from riding any kind of bike. So, I suppose, this channel would have taken a different direction had it not been for the surgery and the purchase of an ebike due to the knee.
Range, bigger battery and several. Ride the bike sensible. weight, tire pressure, weather temps etc.. ask, what range you want and how you wanna ride then get the needed bike and battery for your needs. Looking at this in my own case if i drive 30km/h and battery lasts 3 hours and I get 90km out of it that wont cut it for me. I could drop speed and pedal but due to illness I get acid build up even on flat ground pedaling so pedaling is out of the equation. so, I got to plan to add more than 90km range and 3 hours on trottle alone. and since we have winters here and snow, this just amplify the situation as season is shorter when a ride is enjoyable vs fighting snow and cold. (currently weighting options what to buy and go for after winter is over)
They have one coming up September 2nd and want to try it out, this will be my first time doing this. I don’t have a bike but can rent one so yeah might give it go
Final comment, not monetized, not even close. Lol. Just my opinion. Good luck. Keep cranking the vids. Syncing zoom audio? I'm impressed. That's a lot of extra steps but your results are very good.
Russ, as I mentioned in my previous comment here is a video with DJI mic. 2 bikes 2 mics 1 camera, 1 media mod. Both syncing to go pro through the media mod on my camera. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VpQBmLbVYuM.html
Hi, i really enjoyed this video. Im 11 weeks post TKR and had MUA 3 days ago...the pain in the quad is unbelievable, im so glad that you spoke about this as i was wondering what was going on with it, i really wasnt expecting pain like this. Im working hard on the cpm machine but its so hard to go through the pain barrier but just know you have to do it. Thanks for all the great information that you give, it really helps 😊
Do more than the CPM machine. Do the exercises on your own. The CPM while helpful in keeping the leg moving isn’t the same as pushing through on your own. It took me a long time to get better, nearly 2 years. But keeping the exercises going is the key to success. Good luck to you!
@@RussIsRight thanks for the advice, yes its easy to rely on the cpm machine but doing the exercises myself i guess is more important. Hopefully as the quad pain lessens i can push harder on my own.
Nice Bike Beautiful Color. Great Review, I'm beginning to think if your mainly riding on pavement commuter bike is way to go. Kudo's to magicycle for realizing there are larger riders out here. I think they were the pioneers of having higher capacity rating on there bikes. Very well designed and seem to work flawlessly.
If you want to just cruise on a nice sunny day, 70-80 degrees out, with no wind on a really nice looking ebike, then this is the one for you. Love the step thru design and quite ride. Magicycle definitely makes quality ebikes and this new model is great! Wished it had a color display tho.
Interesting a lot to like. 54lb is and has a capacity of 400lb. Nice being able to switch between cadence and torque. For me the 5’5” - 6’8” recommended height would be good since my wife and I are both 5’ 10”. I like tires about 2.1 inch. For Russ this bike may be large for his wife, if she is less than 5’5”.
Hey Russ, just wondering what's happening with the Wired review? I have a 2024 and the 2024 V2 - love em both! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the bike!
Don't know what happened with Wired. I talked to the owner of the company a couple of months ago, sent him text messages which took him forever to answer and then he told me he would have a bike for me in early August. I sent him another text about picking it up and never heard from him again. I've decided, if it happens, it happens, but I'm not holding my breath for it. He might have changed his mind about getting one to me. Who knows!
Reminds me of my Aventon Pace 500.2. Similar, but different. Nice. Mine can reach 28 mph on PAS 5 and pedaling. The gear set is good. It’s nice for riding on pavement. I would like the dual sensors. Thanks for the review, Russ.
