“While we may come from different places and speak in different tongue’s, our hearts beat as one!”❤️🌎 This part always made me cry as a kid. I wish more people would think this way. Such a endearing quote.
Thank you Emily for speaking up for those of us who believe our own eyes and ears and not the interminable, contemptible concoctions the tories insult our intelligence with
At 2:56 if I’m no mistaken you can see Draco in the back and he genuinely looks sad and we all know if he didn’t care he would probably be laughing 😔🥺🥺
She's absolutely on point and any one in government trying to argue this will look like a tit. He was in the wrong, massively, and as can be seen now 4 weeks on from the lack of progress with the progression of the curve downwards, his actions undermined the messaging.
She went right for the throat and boy did I enjoy it. It’s about time more reporters grow a set and don’t let politicians lead the public round the garden path.
Sadly she has also destroyed the BBC's credibility over impartiality. I don't disagree with her comments or even disagree with biased news channels coverage. What I do disagree with is that as the BBC is paid for by the British taxpayer then it has no other option than to be impartial. They are quite happy to take money off Tory voters to fund their programming but have no issue with representing the views of only those taxpayers who are left of centre, infact well left at the moment pandering as they do to progressive left leaning liberals. The editor who allowed this introduction should be sacked rather than the journalist because her own credibility is now in tatters.
Emily spoke for the majority of people in this country who are disgusted at the hypocrisy of this Government and it's sinister special advisor. The BBC's treatment of her is shameful. Well done Emily.
Surely the hypocrisy is that none of the Labour MP's got the same treatment. How on earth can civilised people condone that rabid pack/mob camp outside his house and allow them to intimidate his family. Matliss intention was purely to stir it up. Sorry mate the only majority in this country is the Tory one. ( and I'm a EX- Labour voter of 40 years until this election)
I have struggled to find why people have complianed to the BBC about this. It was factual & accurate. Emily Maitlis asks all the right question & follows them up. Ministers & our Government do not like inteligent scrutiny. She is one of the best interviewers the BBC has. Maybe some of the others & the BBC in general ought to grow a pair & tell it like it is!
Where was the witch hunt for the 4 Labour MP's and SNP for breaking lockdown? People are complaining for the blatant bias on display, and for insertion of personal opinions into what is meant to be objective news.
You miss the point. Newsnight is a news programme; and has always been billed as such. A news programme is not the place for personal comment, personal opinion and analysis based on unstated presuppositions about the virtue of politicians' actions - or their lack of virtue. In this case Emily Maitlis obviously failed to understand those distinctions. She's not the only one; but on the BBC she is just about the worst offender in that territory. Ten minutes after the programme started, my Ireland-born and Ireland-resident daughter (32) phoned me to express her shock at it. She would not normally be watching BBC; but in this case she caught what EM said, and said to me, in amazement, "That would never happen on RTÉ." (Ireland's equivalent of BBC.) Indeed it would not! Those who support EM do so only because they make the same failures of distinction as she does, and think that's OK because what she says supports their own opinions. I'm no supporter of the Tory Party or of Dominic Cummins. What EM destroys in this clip is not Dominic Cummings, but her own integrity as a newscaster. If she wants to be a commentator or a proponent for specific opinions, she can go elsewhere in the over-populated world of TV broadcasting. And then I can choose whether or not I wish to listen to her personal critiques.
@@Martin_Adams184 so what did she say in this piece that wasn't factual? Also to your last point, you can make that choice anyway. Nothing is forcing you to watch her. That's you making that choice.
