Welcome to my channel Thomas Sauka Productions I am not making money out of RU-vid, I’m a solo traveller, sports enthusiast, I do mountain/trail running, cycling, swimming, Skiing, and general lover of making videos about things, weather it be vlogs, reviews, or just nice holiday/trip cinematic videos, I like to try new things and make videos of it. I hope you enjoy my videos
Thx. Walked the WHW last year. This section is maybe not the most spectacular but still a nice one when leaving the Loch Lomond and you enter into the wide valleys of the Highlands. Greetings from Poland.
We often used to go paddling and swimming in the river when we was kids, we used to also go in the boating lake and swim in there and jump of a high platform that used to be there, I’ve also swam in Stanbourgh lake in a Triathlon, as Murky as it is 😂
Great stuff, Tom! Great running and you’ve captured what it’s like really well. You did a lot better than me with the filming… SD card error meant I’ve lost all my footage! Will message you about getting a few clips if that’s OK 😊
A valid Jungfrau ski pass covers all trains and cable cars from interlaken, and all the rest of the area Mürren Lauterbrunnen Grindelwald Wengen ect, but they do check your pass on the trains
@thomassauka Thanks. I was getting so worried about the spiralling prices, that I tried to get my holiday switched to Chamonix. I've seen videos about the Jungfrau and one Swiss guy said it was a basically a rip off. 😶 Hopefully the views will be spectacular 🤩 without having to go up there.
thanks for info as I was thinking about going to Junfrau area soon but to be honest I think I will stick to Zermatt, we had a great time as Christmas there and I am returning in Feb. we are in Japan now going to Hakuba which is small but nice
Ok well I’m sure you’ll have fun whatever you do, I like Grindelwald and may return again some time, the skiing can be a bit more tricky than Zermatt, the pistes are generally a bit more challenging I think, I got lucky with the weather as there was rain lower down on the first day but turned colder and snow the second day, the 3rd day in Murren was absolutely amazing, sunny all day and great skiing, well worth the travel time to get there. Have fun in Japan
Epic Tom, epic shades of beachy. I saw a couple of NHRRC girls at the start and a Leighton Runner too. This ones going on my 'to do list'. Giving beachy a miss next year in prep for the other marathon you know about. Maybe this one for 2025.
There were so many local runners from local clubs, everyone was saying hi, was lovey, it’s a different beast from Beachy as it’s mainly a road marathon but you will probably love it
Rob and Steffan assure me it's Betoos eh coid. That's the Pont y Pair bridge and the Miners Bridge on the way back. Lovely place have followed that path all the way up to Moel Saibod.
Not joking. I have camped in the Scottish Highlands with a £20 supermarket tent and got better results than this. Admittedly I sprayed it with Fabsil first, but damn .....
I have re seam sealed the tent and and sprayed with waterproofing and I have used the tent around 5 times this year, I actually think it’s a great tent if used in the right way, I’ve been to Scotland and the Peak District, the thing to avoid is dragging the tent with your stuff/rucksack in it when you want to move the position of the tent as it breaks the seam sealing and makes it let water in
That should read "4 weeks ago!!" That lady with the buggy was there That week too. No hills but undulating and grass isn't the greatest surface to run on. There was a guy when I was there who ran in flip-flops. Thought I can't let him beat me and I didn't 😇
The side guys are too tight as shown, they’re meant to give added headroom, not to hunker it down so much that you have the outer fly wrinkled as shown. Placing a stick or pole to hold the guy line up around 20”-25” about a foot from the pull out point, this will increase inner space considerably. You can see the sag between the poles on the ridge line, this is because you’ve guyed the sides out too much. 👍🏻
That’s ok if you have a stick, for one person and a 2 person tent I’ve only got 2 poles, I don’t think it’s a big deal anyway, I will be out putting it to the test this weekend in Scotland, but since I re-sealed the tent and waterproof it I’ve Gad no problem but there’s no test like Scottish weather 😅
That's a great trip so far Thomas. The days look like they are nice and manageable distances. Thanks for sharing. What do you do with the bike at night? Do you chain it up or worry about it going walkies?
@@thomassauka i came accross this video because i was going to do a trial for skiing here, i did it yesterday and the dry slope takes a while to get used to and i agree with u by the way, i dont like the dry slope much either 😅
Hey Thomas! Was a pleasure to chat to you on the bus on the way up to Ramsey, sorry to hear about your DNF, the first few miles were very tough it was cold and windy for sure, pleased you got to see some of the beautiful scenery though, see you on the start line again next year hopefully! Don't forget your sunglasses next year!! 😎
Hey mike nice to hear from you, yes i found the first 2 hills a bit tough as you said, couldn’t find the Trig on snae fell as it was so misty 😂 but found it in the end, if I can get back next year for another go I will see you there 👍
Never been to the Isle of Man so to briefly see some of the wilder and stunning parts was QI (quite interesting) Tom so thanks for this video mate. There are sooo many factors that can affect our performance on the day from lack of quality sleep to an unexpected blister but you gave it a go 👏 See you soon at parkrun hopefully..
Nice one Tom. Bloody expensive half though. Scenery looks good, pity about the battery. Maybe pack it abit with foil? Hopefully will stop it it moving.
