I am a working mom that has a side addiction to quilting and hiking. I plan on mostly doing quilting videos for the beginner through expert that wants something quick and beautiful. I am known by my family and friends as incredibly "fast" at whipping up a quilt. I wanted to share my over ten years experience with others. And I just got a long arm. That's right, I just got a BabyLock Coronet. So now I am learning a whole new world of quilting. Learn with me as we cut, piece, and quilt!
Join me on my Facebook group "covered in kindness quilting" for live interactions and easy access to our community's wealth of knowledge!

I think it's nice you are doing you tube instructional videos, but it would be more professional if you didn't have your kid in there.

Want to say thanks so much for your video!! I bought a coronet in November and have struggled with the tension, bobbin winding as well. The top threads look better than the bottom.. I’m looking forward to your other videos:)

I have the same machine and frame and what I do is keep moving the quilt as many times as necessary to quilt about halfway down. Then I take it off the frame and turn it upside down and do the same thing starting from what was the bottom until I get to where it’s already quilted. On quilts that are wider than the frame, I turn it sideways and do the same thing, section by section. It prevents having such a big quilt roll that takes up half my quilting area. It’s still a big PIA but it gets the job done. Sometimes it’s necessary to repin the sandwich when changing directions to avoid pleats in the backing. I wish I had room for a bigger frame and a full sized longarm but that’s not going to happen so I mostly do smaller quilts.

Horrible video. You didn't show anything. Who cares about comments about your sewing storage when they pull up a video on loading a quilt frame. Try again.

I watched this video when I first got my Coronet about three weeks ago after waiting three weeks before that so I was a little afraid to dive right in and then dealing with Covid and Christmas so I really got busy today. I was so frustrated with rolling the bulk at the back that I almost cried. I called my dealer and they couldn’t really help me on the phone and since they are a three hours drive from me I was very discouraged. Then I remembered your video that I didn’t watch to the end and watched it again. I’m so glad that you went to the trouble of doing this video, you answered all my questions that my dealer couldn’t. Thank you (sew) much and yes, you do have a great little helper there. I would love to see more of your videos. Thank you, thank you and thank you.

Some people say they pin rather than baste when adding the extra piece on the end. I think basting would be better, less chance of a screw up.

You can buy fabric leaders that do that. you just attach them with safety pens or very large stitch that won't come out

I am at such a loss completely! I bought my Coronet 2 and 1/2 yrs ago! I'm intimidated by it, I just had my husband put the frame up and machine on the frame 2 months ago. I have no idea on how to load a quilt on it let alone how to bring up the bobbin thread etc other than what I read in the booklet. I'm hoping you have some beginner videos coming soon for complete newbies like myself. Looking forward to learning how to use my old/new toy. Jeri

Thank you for the 2 videos. I watched the other video of how you load the quilt onto the Coronet. I got my Coronet in 2017 and have done a few quilts. I, too, made some leaders (those long pieces of fabric that you sewed onto your quilt bottom). I am still not very comfortable with loading a quilt on the Coronet but this did help!

I just bought this same machine and have been playing with it for a few days. It has been a nightmare so far but I have used your videos for reference and they have helped immensely with the tension issues. I am having a problem though that I cant seem to find an answer to. I will be going along sort of smoothly and all of the sudden it's like my machine doesn't want to move freely and the stitches are about an inch long. I cant figure it out and wondered if you might have any advice. Greatly appreciate your videos and help.

Thank you. I bought a Coronet 2 years ago and it’s just sitting there. There were no classes on it at the store where I bought it. At the time I bought it there were maybe 4 or 5 videoes each about 3 min long I haven’t looked for videoes in awhile and just found you. This has been so frustrating. I am right now going to go turn it on. Thank you sooo very much!!

@coveredinkindness7881
@coveredinkindness7881 6 лет назад
Barbara Johnston make sure it is "snapped" in place in between the tension discs. You can hear it snap in there. It should rest on top, but rather be in between the discs. Hope that helps!

Cheryl Moore I have been crazy busy lately and have had a TON of tension problems. I am sitting right now with, I like it. It does a great job when it works well. And is frustrating when it doesn't. I have learned a lot. I think I will do weekly tips videos next in the fall. At the end of the day, I don't have room for a bigger frame. I think the machine will last a long time. It is just not as "out of the box" friendly as I would like.

Thank you so much for making these videos. I just purchased my coronet in February. I have yet to make my first quote on it. I have been struggling with which thread to use. I was used Seracor polyester 40wt Without any problems. Then I purchased I said cord 40 weight polyester. When I use the bright pink in the top and bobbin I had no problem when I went to use the red my thread kept breaking.I read did the bobbin I rethreaded the machine machine Even change the needle. And I tried to adjust the tension I had nothing but problems. I was wondering what kind of spread you have found to be the most successful with your clarinet. And if it’s at all possible for you to continue making these videos I appreciate it. Because they are so specific to the coronet. Thank you so much.

Sorry to keep you hanging. I am a teacher and mom and crazy busy. I have been having my own thread issues! I will start posting a weekly tips video starting in the fall. I have learned a lot by trial and error. It is frustrating when you can't get the tension right, but hopefully my videos will help with that.
