Putting the 4 elements of HipHop into its/their proper historical context while also debunking often repeated origin/creation myths that have been repeated ad nauseam since the first official outsider attempts to document the culture circa the late 1970s/early 1980s. Also, a bit of information on the everyday social interactions between the races of the time period, since this better puts the demographics of 1970s HipHop in its proper context.

I keep hearing these "Rockers" talking about the "Shotgun Dance". But the part they don't realize is that "The Shotgun" was an actual dance called The Shotgun that goes back to 1965. It was named after the song "Shotgun" by Junior Walker & The All Stars. So in the words of The Roots, "They ain't sayin Nuttin New. All the Rock Dance is was just an imitation and adoption of the existing Funk and Soul dances that already existed. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Bv15HQYYqF4.html

@@42blackflag That's why they have to make it clear as to what they're talking about. Most of these guys saying they were doing the "Rock" dance in Disco clubs clearly are talking about what they call "Freestyle Rock" as opposed to "Outlaw Rock" which wasn't really a dance, since all consisted of was the miming of stabs/fights (aka a type of "Burning"). That OG from Brooklyn who was the roommate of the The OG Rubberband (Billy Sasa) saying the dance we now know as "Rock" dance started between 1974-1976, lines up exactly with the Bronx OG from the Dungeon ("KId" of the Disco Kids) saying he first saw it coming in in 1975! To add to that, if you look at 1:20 in this video I posted a while back highlighting an exchange between an OG Brooklyn Rocker (Chuck) vs an OG Bronx Rocker (Willie Estrada aka Marine Boy), Estrada who is a Freestyle Rocker clearly states that they (Bronx cats) came with that style from/in the mid to late 1970s! Some interesting opinions of/on Brooklyn Rock(ers) by the Bronx guys lol ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A1099xYhgXc.html

Good work in bringing up how the foundation of the Rock Dance came from our culture because that's not how they really dance they just added their style to our dances like the Swing / Lindy Hop / The Charleston / Funk dances and see how Ink 76 said in that interview by King Up Rock and said the Rock dance was first called the Funk Dance and how our music was the music they loved to dance too. I was saying if anyone had any contact with the first Zulu's like that brother Henderson who told how beaver and Lil boy Keith was the ones who the Puerto Ricans learned from and came after doing the breaking on the floor because it was those brothers that really brought that to the game after the Black spades and Herc Parties you need to get them to shut Colon and them down for good because like Crazy legs said it was that Moreno style that's the original B-boying just saying but keep up the good work. Who is a brilliant in The Amazing dancer but she brought back afro-caribbean dancing in white people in theater black people named her the mother of modern American dance when we all know black American dance comes from the Deep South more specifically the low country where they have Buck dancing the Charleston which was knocking and kicking and padding Juba

@@Smitty753 The "West Indian" section of the Carib doesn't have that many dances historically. The "Latin" part of the Carib is the area with the most dances in the region. The most famous (mainstream) dance of the West Indies is probably the "Limbo", they don't have any real partner-based, social dances. The FBA social and partner dances are distinct from/have nothing to do with the Caribbean.

Literary Evidence: Homer’s epics date back to around the 8th century BCE, making them some of the earliest written records that reference both musical instruments and vocal imitation !!!!
@SLPGroundSoundMusic
@SLPGroundSoundMusic 7 дней назад
😂 nice try but they was not the first to used their voice as an instrument ! 🤦🏽 People Using Their Voice as an Instrument The origins of using the human voice as an instrument are deeply rooted in prehistoric cultures, where vocalization likely served both communicative and musical purposes. While it is challenging to pinpoint a specific group or culture as the “first” to use their voice in this manner due to the lack of written records and archaeological evidence, anthropological studies suggest that early humans across various regions utilized their voices for musical expression long before the development of formalized music systems. Prehistoric Cultures: Evidence indicates that prehistoric peoples, possibly dating back to the Upper Paleolithic period (approximately 50,000 to 12,000 years ago), used their voices in ways akin to instrumental music. This included vocalizations that imitated natural sounds or were used in rituals and social gatherings. Ancient Civilizations: As civilizations began to form, such as those in Mesopotamia and ancient Egypt, there is documentation of vocal music being integral to religious ceremonies and cultural practices. The Sumerians, for instance, are known for their hymns and chants that incorporated vocal elements resembling instrumental music. Cultural Universality: Across various cultures-whether among Indigenous tribes in Africa, Native American groups, or ancient Asian societies-there is a consistent theme of using the voice not just for speech but also as a primary means of musical expression. This universality suggests that the practice likely emerged independently in multiple locations around the world. In summary, while we cannot definitively identify a single group as the first known users of their voice as an instrument, it is clear that this practice has been a fundamental aspect of human culture since prehistoric times.

Because Batch tells the story and acts like he created Floor Rocking all by himself and that TBB was the first Floor Rocking crew. But we know that isn't true. We really need a more in-depth interview from Bom 5 about exactly what level of B-Boying and specific things he and TT Rock introduced to TBB as well what specific years that first started.
