Funny thing to say when you invaded them and they smoked your armies and yet he had the nerve to say “what have we done to deserve this”. Be thankful it was Japan and not the US 😂 you be seeing 2 suns in the same day
I could not watch this anime after a couple episodes. The fact that this Empire is still so utterly arrogant after the Earth forces obliterate FIVE LEGIONS worth of troops in a single night made it just too ridiculous.
“Do they think they’re Gods or something?!” Never ask that when there are certain leaders out there with power that force their people to think he is a god
I feel like there exists a version of this story where the jsdf and japan aren't being glazed over while the fantasy world has legit means to oppose the modern and magicless world. Maybe magic is more prominent as has become integrated into the military (which, for some reason, it isn't already), or there are some spells that negate or circumvent technologies and armaments. There's so much potential for great conflict but like I said, I think the focus is just to praise the JSDF (even though they were sent in with outdated equipment) and Japan.
It seriously baffles me how these goobers thought it would be a good idea to invade a country, no, a world that's far more technologically advanced than them. Did they think their monsters and magic would be good enough?
Pina's statement is correct, but the Prince is lucky he didn't count under normal civilian law. Kidnapping, imprisonment, and multiple sexual assault would earn him the death penalty in most Earth countries. Imagine if the Senators knew that's what awaited on the other side of the Gate.
Pretty crazy when one realizes that the Japanese here didn’t bring in their top of the line equipment but old Soviet ERA ones to maintain their military readiness from outside threats but still able to suppress the Can’t help but fantasize. What if this Gate opened in the Center of Manhattan, New York? The situation in the anime would play out similarly but would be quickly suppressed after the initial chaos. NYPD by itself which has tens of thousands of personnel could be considered a small army on this own and is even better funded and equipped than some National armies in smaller countries after 9/11. The NYPD and other local agencies like the FBI would quickly organize a defense and suppress the ground elements even before the National Guard comes into the picture. Pretty sure they would only need to deal with the Wyverns which would still be relatively difficult to take down. For exploration to the other side, US has lots of military hardware and manpower they could spare for an expedition. Unlike the Japanese, the US “outdated” and “Soviet Era” equipment would be considered advanced by standards of most countries. Unlike the Japanese who has to face social backlash for every military action due to their big anti-militaristic policies and pacifist postures (was even showed in the anime), US doesn’t have as strong anti-war movements. And depending on the havoc, death toll, and damages the initial invasion to New York , it would be possible that public sentiment would be in a landslide favor for retribution. Americans would be out for blood. And what the base in Alnus would look like would also be different due to the difference in policy. The Japanese built a fortress clearly displaying their defensive posture and didn’t expand beyond the immediate area. They only sent out small teams of lightly armed infantry to scout out nearby communities and establish friendly relations, learn about the culture, and make decisions and policy based on those findings. US wouldn’t do that. Pretty sure the US Expeditionary force would not contain themselves to Alnus hill like the Japanese did in this anime and quickly expand toppling hostile governments they happen to come across and installing a new one that is friendly to US(puppets basically). Just then they would learn from captured POW and occupied towns about the culture and such. Instead of a modern fortress that Japan built, US Alnus hill base would look more more like a Forward operating base to support their units movements. Meaning less walls and more space for vehicle movements. Willing to bet there would be a small airstrip and runway for helicopters and UAVs by Day 3. Maybe after the initial crossing in their first day, US would dig down to hold off the enemy, but as more men and equipment cross to the other side, Americans would definitely start pushing back unlike the Japanese who dug down and fortified. After the first few days, US would be destroying Medieval army formations marching towards Alnus. Then wouldn’t be able to catch a glimpse of Alnus before they’re unalived by UAV strikes, Helicopters, HIMARS/artillery, and forward deployed Tanks and IFV who would be grateful for the target practice. By the end of the first week. Lots of civilian companies, researchers, surveyors, and heavy equipment would be rolling to the other side and quickly realize the resources and potential of an entire friggin planet. More arable land means less dependence to imports from other countries. More people on the other side who are less privileged means more potential manpower for cheap labor hence companies will definitely move production to the other side especially if they discover that the other side also has raw materials and/or something similar to what they need. And that’s not even mentioning if the surveyors and geologists discovers Crude Oil. On a planet in its Medieval era and hasn’t realized the value of oil, an entire planet’s worth of Barrels with no political competitors. I can’t even imagine the redoubling of efforts they would make to secure that Lmao By week 3, I have no doubt that NASA and SpaceX would have launched at the least a satellite by now and provide critical information and communications to both military and civilians on the other side. Bigger planes would be doing more surveying and expansion would slow down but not stop to consolidate their gains. On the other side of the Gate, CDC will be researching and cataloguing potential new diseases people coming back from the other side might bring with them or how diseases from our side might affect the inhabitants of the other side. The greatest minds in Physics would be studying the Gate and many existing scientific theories/hypothesis would be confirmed, debunked, formed, and improved. Other scientific branches would also take interest willing to study the other side’s fauna and flora and their potential benefits. The prospect of an entire new planet to explore and discover will reinvigorate the youth and drive up Military recruitment and University enrollment for professions which will be useful for the side. With the bubbling prices of real estate, I also bet many young people will grab the opportunity if a resettlement program to the other side is made public. Public imagination and entertainment would be heavily influenced by this especially if the other side reveals they have magic, immortals, dragons, elves, and the like which will drive the push explore and research even further. There would be memes like “Born too late to explore Earth, born too early to explore the Galaxy, Born in the right time to explore Earth 2.0” On the downside, tensions will definitely skyrocket with the international community. Peer adversaries like China, EU, Russia, and UN in general would definitely demand a shared ownership of the other side. Weaker countries would suddenly find many of their political bargaining chips suddenly not work and US would suddenly find themselves overwhelmingly superior over any negotiations. In any case, US would definitely be a subject of international pressure. I don’t know how things would play out and it would depend on how politically strong the US at the time but I highly doubt the US would give in, I dare say that they’d be willing to go to war over the Gate. Unlike Japanese politicians in the Anime who got easily pressured by US, China, and Russia. Very long comment but I would like some more stories similar to this. Closest story I could find with this premise so far was a novel called America in another World where the entire USA literally gets Isekai’d.
@@Raximus3000 I only read half of the novel but didn’t Hardy open the Gate so someone end the Empire? US would be much more efficient Lmao Anyway, it’s a fun thought experiment of how US would act. Imagining how they would operate in a theater surrounded by hostile forces with no peer adversaries and international community monitoring their actions since they will definitely control what the outside world will see and it’s virtually impossible for other countries to spy on them while inside the Gate. Japan was rather infuriating sometimes.
@@paulthenotsogreat8032 Same as always only subtle. They would not destroy the empire, they would set up an emperor under their control and use the infastructure to take everything they want period. The empire would become even bigger and stronger under the patronage of USA, hell world domination would be the end result. Think about it if you want to destroy an expantionist empire you need to have it meet its superior opposite not its natural evolution. Japan was ideal for this role.
While I'm a big fan of the English Dub of this Anime, they left out an even bigger call back during the briefing of the various commanders when they were deciding which Force would be the best to respond to the rescue of the city. When the Airbourne Commander asked if the speakers had been installed on their birds, one of the other Commanders stated that the Airborne Commander had been possessed by Col, Kilgore! 😎😎😎😎😎😎Given what comes next, an almost shot by shot remake of the attack, it is quiet fitting I thought! 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
I really need to find the light novel/manga whatever the original format was. I really hope theres a point where pina finds out that Japan actually has minimal armed forces by our worlds standards and has a treaty with the actual most powerful nation for protection. (Although in recent years due to poor leadership the US has been a crappy ally and I fully support Japan ramping it up its own defense force becuase of it. if the US won't reliably protect them, then our end of the treaty isnt being held up, and thus they are not obligated to limit their military) In general Pina reading earth history would be great for the reactions alone.
Just funny how empire need to send people in certain location to track enemy and there hideout whereas when jsdf able to put satellite they can surveillance 24×7 and drones to observe entire layout with just gaming like console
