I'm into month 4 (age 70). longest I ever went is around 5 months. Maybe a yeard this time around, as I hate shaving. You get noticed more? I like being kind of anonymous, so Ill see how that goes. But, I live alone, except for my 2 livestock guardian dogs, (kuvasz breed) and they couldn't care less, as they are furrier than I will ever be. 🤣🤣
Great to see the transformation, what's it like now? 5 years later 😊 did you ever trim it at all, like sideburns and cheeks or did you just let it all grow out, thanks 😊
Do you use refined sheabutter or unrefined ? I used unrefined and made a 25% try out batch, but even with 'a gallon' scented oil, the smell of the sheabutter is like a rotting cadaver😂
Thanks for watching, I used unrefined but I did not have that problem, you may have had a contaminated batch of Shea Butter. It should have a slightly nutty aroma, but it was unnoticeable in my final product. Refined Shea Butter will work fine as well. Hope your next batch turns out better.
Hey man, I’m a huge fan of your beard sir! In this state it is really superb. I am embarking on a yeard journey and I am now on 2 1/2 months. Im going strong, I’m using a multiple plethora of beard products with hope of going on to make my own! My real reason to do this yeard is simple, some mock, I take it seriously, I’m growing it to do Santa Claus for children’s terminally ill hospital wards all across Northenr Ireland and if I can swing it, England as well. I’m a man of 30 years old with 3 kids and i know how hard life can be for many, so in short, this is my way of giving something back to the world. Without blowing smoke, I look up to your yeard and your fantatsic dedication to the journey and to the process! As I said, I’m only really beginning my journey at 2 1/2 months, but I am excited to see what the future has in store for both me and indeed my hairy companion! Be safe and be well sir!
What’s the best product or way to cover patchy spots I just started growing my beard I bought this shampoo and tame can tell a difference in the smoothness
Hi Richard, the Wash & Tame is a great product for making you beard soft and tangle free. Unfortunately, there is not a product that will actually help with patchy spots. There are lots of scams out there, don't be fooled. Patience and time to let your hair grow over the patchy spots plus good nutrition and exercise are your best bets for maximizing your beard potential.
@@blazingbeardproducts2845 thank you so much for the advice that’s what everyone is telling me just let it grow and get through its ugly phase and eventually the patches will hopefully be covered I’ve only been growing my beard about three months
Never grown a yeard before, although I've had a beard for most of my adult life. But the more videos I watch like this, the more emboldened I get to do it.
The BEST How to video I've seen so far. It's the proportion that is all over the place in recipes and videos. You are the ONLY one I have seen NAIL down what your proportions are. Also, made me willing to try whipping it. I dabble at baking so mixing shi... stuff is no big deal. Though my dog will be pissy when she cant lick the beaters lol. Well done!
There are no legal % for US products, there are guidelines put out by the IFRA that most manufacturers follow. What the % is varies by type of fragrance. If your making beard oil for personal use, it's completely up to you. If for resale, you should request limits from the fragrance provider. Hope that helps.
@blazingbeardproducts2845 yes...thank you for replying...do you happen to know of any reliable online go to source that breaks down those percentages for each fragrance ? Or is it best to request each limit from the supplier as you suggested?
Watched so many videos related to Beard. Never subscribed or really liked any of them. But your video my friend was just awesome. Step by step, Informative and just awesome. And you have a new subscriber. Will look into your channel for a beard oil. But this butter I am going to get it done. Thank you.
Hi. I have a couple of questions for you. Is 3% the ratio to go with if you intend to give away or sell beard oil? Also... is it the same ratio if you use fragrance oils instead of essential oils? Great instructional video, my man!
The 3% I use for my own use. Each essential oil or fragrance oil has its own requirement as to how much is allowed if you plan to sell or not for your own use. The manufacturer should be able to provide guidelines.
Buying in larger quantities lowers the price per ounce, but eliminates variation. It's a trade off. But yes, things are more expensive than a few years ago. Thanks for watching.
Could you link the video to where you reviewed that shea moisture strengthen and restore conditioner? I tried a quick search with your page name and I didn't find it. But I like how you touch on it here in this video the other day I decided to pick up a bottle it was a bonus size with 50% more.. I've only used it once as I wouldn't need to condition every day I've heard that's not good anyways can be too much but none the less it's a very interesting conditioner I'm not crazy about the smell but the effects were decent and seemed to last for days and even get a little better the next day or two.. so too soon to have a real opinion on it I've used other conditioners that I like I even have a leave-in conditioner which is every man Jack's beard butter I really like the effects of that too.
It was included in a cowash/conditioner video, you can watch it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GFpCroSRimI.htmlsi=4bfqAXbjOEL89-iQ
@@blazingbeardproducts2845 ok thank you I'll check it out. I was even thinking about trying the strengthen and restore shampoo.. probably get some similar benefits but lighter than the conditioner. I'm interested in the apple cider vinegar as an ingredient. One time using the conditioner days ago and my beard still feels different, in a good way I think. Definitely softer.
Just started making beard oil for my man’s glorious face mane after his favourite Mary Kay brand wasn’t available. Thanks for your insight! Scent is very important and very personal I found.
This video is older but I tried this recipe this morning. I make soaps, lotions and just started beard balms. I used yoir ratios, but changed my carriers around. The texture is Soooooo nice! Mango butter is probably my favorite to work with. Your ratios are perfect though. Great video blazing beard ❤
@@blazingbeardproducts2845 ok and if I were to add some to my homemade beard butter how much would I add? My normal recipe i use is 3 tablespoons of shea butter and 1 tablespoon of carrier oil.
I make 2 oz of beard butter at a time as I need it by using 3 tablespoons of shea butter and 1 tablespoon of carrier oil and it works fantastic!! How many drops of essential oil would be appropriate for this much butter? Planning on using lemon EO. Thanks
Roughly 60 drops, but if it's for yourself and not for sale, you are free to make it as strong or weak as you like. Lemon is a citrus and the scent will dissipate quickly at standard ratios. I'd start at 60 drops, and increase from there. If you go higher you may also want to reduce the carrier oil so as to maintain the consistency of the balm. Hope that helps.
If i chose to use fragrance oils instead essential is there a guide how much u can use without getting into any trouble ? With legal issues i know u can only have a ceartin amount of fragrance
As long as it's for your own personal use, you can scent as you please. Each fragrance oil is different, and you'd need to get that information from the manufacturer.
@@MrIftown usually yes for fragrance oils, essential oils not, although there are sites you can look them up on, search ifra essential oil recommended concentrations.
Old vid, but I used the same brand. Had the oil, butter, and still have the beard/face wash. I can say if you need a good wash to strip all the oils out of your beard for a good reset, the wash will do it. Loved the butter & oil. The butter was a bit more of a lotion consistency though, but did the job well. Agree about likely being unnatural fragrances used in it. Gonna use the butter container to hold the next butter I make based off of your ratios on your butter video.
The butter is awful which is too bad as the company overall has decent products at reasonable prices. The container is the best part of this product, lol.
Just an off topic curiosity; Have you, or how often, do you shave it all off and restart growing your beard? My wife hates it, but I get bored every couple to few years and restart just because.
Thanks for the detailed measurements. Only made a couple batches of other recipes before. Have ~1/2lb of mango & shea butter that's been sitting around for a bit. Only have hemp seed, coconut, & a lil argon mix left though. We'll see how it goes.
@@blazingbeardproducts2845 I added more wax to my beard wax I made and it came out great and I made some butter today with 1.5 oz shea butter and .5 oz almond oil. Came out great but will use before bed.
@@blazingbeardproducts2845 awesome! So if I were to use say 1 tablespoon of shea butter and 1.5 tablespoons of beeswax then how much almond oil should I use?
