Hey guys, Welcome to my channel, My name is Matt and here you will find videos of different projects I create using my CNC & C02 laser machines. I love woodworking and doing anything involved with it.
my son owns a harley and I would be interested in making one these for him. Went to your etsy store and had a look around. Is there a chance that I could pm you to ask you a couple of questions
My locknut wrenches have yet to break free the red loctite on the adjustable z axis risers. Thanks for that, whoever decided I better undo the whole d$&) Z screw to adjust it.
I usually do 12mm/sec @ 30-40% power seems to work well I think unless you raise the material off the bed your always gonna get some flashback as the beam bounces back off the honeycomb bed, I use metal egg rings to sit my material on that way it’s off the bed and I get pretty much no flashback 😊
Hey mate, yeh I do iv not had any major issues with this machine at all it’s been great even had it sit for about 2 months with no use turned it on ran an engrave and cut job and was perfect! 👍🏽
Hey mate, this is just light tack masking tape same stuff they use for applying vinyl decals I got mine from a local place to me called discount printing supplies here in Australia 🇦🇺
Yeh i definitely do just a small 5hp with I think it’s a 50L tank seems to work really well the compressor kicks on a fair bit but it is not very loud and also in a shed outside so it really doesn’t bother me, I have the ultimate air assist kit and super happy that I did do the upgrade it’s so much better than the small standard air assist they come with 😊
@@woodendayz mines is indoors I just got my omtech chiller & infinity kit. I’ve had my machine since April & haven’t Used It. My goal is to be up & running in two weeks. Any tips or advice, for indoors?
@themeditationcorner6531 I unfortunately not really as mine is outside in my shed I would only suggest making sure your extractor fan is all plumbed up good with no leaks so all the nasties vent outside, I could not imagine having the machine for that long and not using it lol you would be very keen to get it up and running hope all goes well for you 😊
@@woodendayz ikr. Anxiety took over & lack of help. I mentally shut down. Your videos help me get to the point of buying my machine. Thank You. Now I just have to put it all together. My infinity Air Filtration Kit 6", Inline Fan Carbon Filter and Ducting will be here Thursday.
@themeditationcorner6531 yeh it can be scary starting out that mainly why I started doing the vids I had no idea when I started did a lot of research and just took my time hopefully you can get it ally I and running let me know if you have any questions happy to help where I can
How is the laser holding up after over a year? Really interested in getting one but trying to decide “Chinese” brand vs omtech. They look identical to me so far with my research.
Yeh I’m pretty sure they are the same or if not vevor maybe a cheaper version but this one I have has been great iv not had any major issues with it few things to tweak here and there but for the most part I can’t fault it! 👍🏽
@@woodendayz ok cheers bud. Thanks for the reply. Going to have a go at exactly what you did. Just got to pick up some of that Oramask Great video by the way👍 Thanks, Peter
hello :) I have 5 questions, if you don't mind: 1: how small are the smalles holes or rectangles that you can cut out? 2: how thin are the cuts in PMMA? 3: is it possible to, for example, "etch" 1mm deep into thicker PMMA? (for example make sag holes/rectangles that remove 1mm from a 3mm PMMA plate without cutting through? 4: making PMMA areas "blind" is the same as engraving? can you vary the percentage of the mattified area? 5: I know there are small desktop plotters for this, but can you cut plastic foil (the colored foils on paper that you can place on PMMA plates) the same way with the laser? Thanks for a quick reply and with best regards!
Hi, yes you can cut acrylic very small just a few mm circle or rectangle and yes you can etch/engrave 1mm on some 3mm and not cut through it all depends on your speed and power settings that you use but you can engrave very light or very deep, The cuts are extremely thin if you were to cut out a circle then you can push it back in with almost no gap at all it’s very precise when cut by the laser 😊
I’m not sure about cutting foil or paper as iv not tryed that before sorry and yes you can vary the percentage of the engraving by selecting a different power setting and adding that to a specific layer in Lightburn
I have the same machine , but I have a problem when I cut the acrylic all is burning. am not sure what is the problem if you have any idea for this problem? Thank for you video
On my machine the chiller is sitting beside it and hooked up To the machine, but vevor do sell them with the water tank inbuilt I think the 100w And 130w machines have that option
I have the vevor 80w co2 laser I can not find any where to plug in a rotary tool and vevor are not much help can you tell me where the plug is there is no plugs inside the machine thanks Fred
@Fred-nv9vg mine plugs in just inside the machine on the right under the control panal there is also a switch on the front of my machine labelled rotary plane I assume this is to turn the rotary took on and off once it’s plugged in
Thanks for the reply I have no plugs inside or switches it looks like everything is just hard wired in So guess I’ll keep trying vevor until they give me an answer You have great content on channel.have you tried engraving on tiles I do Fred
@Fred-nv9vg thanks mate I actually havnt tryed tiles but would like to give it a go any info on speeds and power I should try?? Yeh I’m not sure if they all come with this installed I didn’t realise mine did when I’m purchased it wasn’t until I opened it up and realised it had the plug and switch
The motor of your machine is it a stepper motor or a servo motor? I’m wondering if it makes any difference when cutting acrylics. Thanks for your video.
Hi, i am looking to get a VEVOR Co2 Machine , i want to know how it been your experience with Vevor, and if you have any problem your machine , i hope you can help me , thanks 👋
Yes of course not sure why I didn’t think of that lol thanks for the heads up that would make things a lot easier will use that on the next one cheers, Matt
@@woodendayzthanks for making this video. I’m trying to really learn about the safety hazards, the maintenance, the extra things I need like the air assist for fires, the chiller and stuff like that. Any thoughts on what to research? What problems I’m going to encounter and how to best setup my station? Do you have a surge protector or anything special for power?
Just research C02 lasers in general yeh you should have a serge protector on the laser itself iv been very fortunate with mine as I havnt had many problems at all my machine had been great I did the air assist myself using the ultimate air assist kit that I bought from Amazon and that made a huge difference so definitely recommend doing that
Hi mate im thinking about buying this machine your videos have been really informative my background is in bieese cncs i just would like to be able to do some stuff at home is this machine able to engrave on mugs or glasses at all thank you
Hey mate, Thanks, yeh it can definitely do mugs and glasses you just need to purchase the rotary tool part, it has the plug connection on the machine. But it doesn’t come with the machine, Thanks for watching 👍🏽
Hey quick question i noticed your files get auto-mirrored when you transfer them in a couple of videos, could you tell me how to turn that off i always forget to mirror them and lose a lot of time. Your videos are super helpful thank you.
Hey mate, it doesn’t cut it backwards/mirrored it’s only on my machine screen that it’s mirrored it can be changed in Lightburn but I’m not too sure how as I havnt done it I did change it early on but for some reason it messed up my parameter space so I couldn’t cut anything, thanks for watching mate, Cheers Matt
@@woodendayz yes, I was wondering. I’m soo new to this. I’m just waiting on my compressor & chiller. Do you know when you’re going to do more videos? Your videos really encouraged me to buy this machine.
@themeditationcorner6531 Thank you and yeh I’m definitely gonna do more videos soon including another review as iv had the machine for about a year and a half now so just update on how it’s been working and what problems iv run into along the way. Exciting times ahead for you I was so keen to get mine 😊
Hey mate, yeh there arnt any good places iv found Bunnings is where I get my 3mm ply and mdf from they say to use laser ply but the stuff from Bunnings seems to work well if you can find straight/flat pieces 😂🤣
Hi Wendy, no problem, there a 3.175mm bit I use 2 types 2 flute straight cut and also a spiral down cut I find the spiral down cut good for cutting things out and the 2 flute is good for pocket routing as in clearing out material i purchase mine from eBay I just buy the cheaper ones you use more but get more for the money 😊 hope this helps cheers, Matt
What size/type of diode are they do they have a number, I got all the other bits apart from the diodes and not sure what type to look for. Great video very informative.
Hi Paul, sorry mate I’m not sure what size diode they were it all came in the kit I purchased the ultimate air assist maybe you could search that up it may have that info on the description specs cheers, Cheers Matt
