The brackets (brace) are according to the compound. For instance, calcium nitrate Ca(NO3)2 and Mg(NO3)2. The valence number of Ca is 2, and NO3 is 1. When you crossover the valence numbers, NO3 becomes (NO3)2 same as N2O6, not NO6 as 2 is multiplying both elements in nitrate

Good video, but would have been more helpful if the scale used was in mm instead of cm. Easy to convert I realize, but centimeter vernier calipers aren’t near as common.
