Welcome to our space. We are originally from South Africa & after much prayer & discussion, decided to move to China while expecting our second child. 🤰🏻We are absolutely loving it here and enjoy raising our kids in a safe, well developed country.
Since our family and friends back home are always asking about life on the other side of the world, we thought why not create a YT channel to document our experiences and share it with everyone?
It’s a bit difficult to post every week as we have a clingy breastfeeding baby and a demanding 3 year old with no family nor friends. Therefore, we post whenever we can at random. You may not see us post for a period on end but we are still here doing life.😴
Let the journey begin!
Don’t forget to like and subscribe - please feel free to leave a comment and let us know what you would like to see more of.
this is interesting. Thanks for sharing. I would love to see your vlog explaining why you chose China, and what it was like on the first day of arrival. What it was like during the first month in China. How long did it take to get accustomed to living in China.
Thank you for the lovely comment, that is exactly what we want our viewers to experience when documenting our time here in China. Awesome that you’re coming to Shenzhen! It’s a beautiful city. Let us know if you have any questions 😉

Hi! Thanks for your feedback. We will have an apartment tour in our next video. The tax percentage is based off the salary bracket you’re in. I will forward you exactly how they calculate tax in China; Taxable amount = wage income - 5000 (tax exemption in 2023) - other deductions determined by Chinese law Thereafter, whatever amount is left, this amount then gets taxed based on your salary bracket which is anywhere between 3% - 45%.
Hey, based off those 4 points: rent ¥4388 + transport ¥300 + food ¥2700 + utilities&maintenence ¥400 + wifi ¥100 + vpn ¥46 = grand total ¥7934 per month. We will be posting a part 2 which will cover other expenses.
