Welcome to BRCHTR002 trains, the channel where 1:76 and 1:1 go hand in hand. As you might have gathered; I'm a great fan of HSTs in general, Grand Central HSTs in particular. I own a couple of Hornby ones myself and there's plenty video footage of that ;)
Apart from vids ranging from 55022 RSG racing around the ECML to class 70s bouncing through East Anglia and 91s blowing your ears off, a few continental trains be found on here as well!
Oh and keep it nice and friendly and mind your language. People using inappropriate and/or bad language will be blocked and reported instantly, eventually resulting in having you removed from youtube. Also, using spell checker has never harmed anyone as far as I know :)
Just like they used to roar thru Slough when I was a 9-11 year old spotter. Lovely to see the original color carriages as well. Tears to my eyes at 81. Love this site.
I saw my first Deltic when I was a small boy in the 60`s. Nothing can compare with the sight and sound of a Deltic going full belt. Thanks for the memories.
I went from York to Newcastle hauled by Pinza back in 1977, the name sticking in my nine year old memory than the fact it was a Deltic. Then in 1980 we had to stop at a level crossing near Morpeth with the windows down as it was a hot day and could hear the Deltic long before I saw it. The noise was amazing and I became a fan.
Twin Deltic s on a Ton-Class minesweeper were just as 'interesting' The only trouble was trying to get them onto the railway lines at Portsmouth Harbour station!
I remember regularly having to stop on the way to school, for the local milk train, pulled by an 0-6-0. My dad always tried to miss it; we always held him back so we wouldn't lol
Ah boyhood memories of summer holidays by the seaside where the sun seemed to shine every day. When the journey was as much a part of the adventure as the holiday itself and as eagerly anticipated.
Yes. The computer system of the leading unit automatically recognizes a new second unit and turns off the red back lights. The white front lights of the now following second unit will turn off once its conductor has selected "following unit" in the computer system and turns off the cabin of the second unit. Pretty standard for such train types...
