It's irresponsible of Solar Installers who don't offer bird proofing as part of the original installation. For first time solar purchasers it's very annoying to have to pay for scaffolding, etc, again afterwards to install bird protection later on because the "Professionals" never advised of this need when buying the solar in the first place!
OMG, One more expense to the already very expensive alternative to simple solar roof panels. Tesla roof shingles (or other brands) are incredibly expensive compared to solar panels, and now, since cleaning them periodically, as frequently as twice a year, your maintenance is going to be even higher.
Nice video and very helpful. I did notice on the time lapse that you were actually sitting on the solar panels while installing some of the critter guard. I'm assuming the panels are strong enough to hold your body weight. Are you ever worried about breaking or cracking the panels? Also, do you shut down the power to the solar system while installing the guard?

I use to clean for Fish Window Cleaning/Freedom Window Cleaning. Use some GG3 or GG4 mixed with Ajax Lemon or Palmolive. The results will be amazing. I cleaned for 14 years before hurting my back doing a big pole job. We use to do the VA and all of Camp Pendleton as well as all the Carlsbad city offices and buildings. I think all told we had 7 of us doing nearly 3k clients. We also did most of the Mall stores in the Outlets. I wish you well and be careful. I really miss cleaning….
Thank you! This is one of our first videos from a few years back. We have a few school districts and picking up more commercial work. We do not use any detergents for solar cleaning. Detergents of any kind leave a little bit of residue which causes the panels to be really shiny, therefore causes sunlight to reflect away rather than absorbing. This causes about 3% of sunlight to be reflected off the panels. We strongly recommend for homeowners to stay away from any car wash soaps and detergents due to all the wax. Yes the panels I'm sure look great but our goal is to maximize energy production and not reduce efficiency. Wishing you the best!
@@southbaysolarcleaning4348 the soaps I recommend don't leave residue, that's why I recommended them. The glass is freaky clear and the cleaning last longer because there is nothing for dirt to adhere to.
Hey man how much do you charge per pannel to clean. I'm looking yo to start this as a side hustle and want to know pricing. I heard anywhere form 12-18 per panel. Also is this the only service you do or do you also softwash roofs? I love working on roofs
We have a minimum charge for residential and yes, it starts at about 12 per panel. Commercial work is a totally different game. When we quote commercial we're dealing with labor hours, setup time, equipment rentals etc.
Love your content and business but that Solar conduit is hella ugly.🤣 I could teach my 3 year old how to bend pipe better than that ridge bend. Shit doesn’t even match the shape of the roof. Looks like a roller coaster. This is why anyone looking to get Solar should request an attic run.
Never put any panel.on your roof . Most of all tesla products. All panel doesn't matter how new there efficiency is the same 20% of all light if not less . So new same thing . So the higher the wattage the panel the more light needed to penitrate the layers of silicon actually less efficiency. The thinner the panel the less light needed more square inches per watt. More efficient better in low light situations. Don't listen to the hype do the research.
All this crazy has to be done .just to maintain a disposable panel . Price tag 100,000 now if you look.at potential power savings compared to your potential power bill . Don't forget disposal cost and roof repair. Tou loose 10,000 or better.

Have you ever cleaned solar panels with a Gardiner hot water brush? It is the stiff sill brush. I have used a few different brushes cleaning a lot of windows in my window cleaning business since 2011, and the stiff Gardiner brush has cleaned the best for me so far. I find I have to scrub a lot less and it does not scratch any glass.
