Just got back from two weeks sailing with friends on a charter 40 lagoon sailing cat. They have 35 years of experience and switched to a cat from a mono as they are older (75) and it is easier for them. Not everyone on a charter is inexperienced. It was their 25th time in the BVIs, and I appreciated all their knowledge. Thanks for sharing this footage, as I never thought to record as I walked around!
I'm sure that was a great trip!. I do enjoy looking back on the even the most mundane moments of our trips and remembering the moments. I do realize that there are all skill levels on charters, but there are more charter boats that don't practice very good sailing etiquette.

That little black box at 4:15 is a Danfoss Fridge Controller, not necessarily wrecked if you soak and rinse it in fresh water, then dry it out, then rinse its circuitboard in metho, then dry it out. The water pump gear is far from damaged. Wire brush, paint with grease, then use if needed.
Did you test the thermostat? Simple test -- put it in water in a saucepan, bring up to boil, watch it open (or not). If faulty, run without it till getting a new one. If it is the heat exchanger, it's an ok temporary fix to plumb sea water directly through water pump through motor to outlet, with or without thermostat. It won't corrode the engine in a few weeks. If it runs way too cool, just constrict the inlet pipe a bit to restrict flow and raise temp. To test temp sender and gauge, remove sender and put in boiled water (212 F or 100 C) as a reference. Ideal engine is 180F or 82C). Could be a small headgasket leak of gases into coolant. This shows by bubbles in your coolant and continual loss of coolant each time you run through overflow. Buy/borrow an infrared temp gun to read temp around the motor for the hottest part. If worst near one cylinder, could be a valve problem. Also check outlet water temp AND VOLUME of flow. Good luck.
