Welcome to the RU-vid home of DJ Kazzeo. Straight out of Santa Cruz (CA), I've been a dj since 1984 and I've been a fixture on radio in the 831 since late 1991. Since September of 1993, I've been a host at 90.9FM KHDC in Salinas, CA. This youtube channel is home to projects I have created such as my "Hip Hop In The 831" documentary series and my TATK series which highlights interviews from my radio shows as well as whatever else I think would be entertaining. I remember you from 92.3 The Beat in L.A. with Sway right? Notorious BIG was there the day o was there. I still got that video tape. Never thought he would be murdered. I don't think he deserved that. Anyways thank you for your contribution. ❤️💜💛💚

DJ Jason D is the MAN! He was my mentor back in 1995/ 1996 at 88.1 KZSC while going to school at UCSC. We had a Underground Hip-Hop/ Comedy show called, “Ikskwizit Dubs” about the same time, Tim da Grinch left. Man, that was such a great time! Good peeps to you, Jason, Tim, Echo and my old partner Jeff “J-Dubb”.
I was the original wanna be bomp production. Lol. Nah!!! dren seth and kane were the real kids no doubt. I learned so much from that crew. So blessed to be apart of this crew as well as khdc. Rip BGS. Rip dren rip verbal tek.
In the late 80s I heard KHDC Chular /Salinas California radio station and listen till this day for the variety of music . Cruising in Closter Park in Salinas was great . Over 1/2 the cars would play KHDC
As best I recall, from how he explained it to me, he just felt that after being there for seven years and having his show go from 5 days a week in primetime to once a week on late Friday night, in addition to having some issues in his personal life that needed his attention, that it was time for him to go.
Bubba G Scotch, what a blessing! KUBO and Bubba kept me out of trouble growing up in Salinas, CA. Thank you for only emoting love and understanding. Bubba made me 2 mixtapes with incredible underground Latino freestyle and newave back in 83-84. God bless his work and his memory! BUBBA G SCOTCH!

I was 11 years old when i started listening to 90.9 KHDC in Salinas Ca. LOVE BUBBA G SCOTCH HE MADE ME SO HAPPY BACK IN THE 80's listening to him was an escape from the emotional physical and sexual abuse i was going through i wish i would have called him and told him i was in trouble I'm sure he would've helped me.

I was a devoted fan and listed to his show for years. Many radio boom box tapes. I used call all of the time too. Thanks for filming and posting this. I hope Mike sees it. Thank you for uploading this Kazzeo! I had no idea we had lost this great and knowledgeable man last year. Such a shame but at the same time I still keep my memories of him and you wherever I go. You guys really helped me maintain my grasp of real hip hop during the better part of my teen years throughout HS. Can't thank you enough for that man - ✌️ The Wu-Kid

Thanks for all the years of work you put in. The countless hours of bringing some real [what is now considered] old school hip hop. I was one of the lucky few who got their hip hop fix every evening from 6-8PM on weekdays. And we owe it all to you and the late-great Verbal Technician. I used to get some flack from friends for always preferring East Coast to West but eventually I was able to get most of them to appreciate and respect the stuff from back East. That's where you guys came in, I would tell many of my friends to tune into KHDC Monday - Friday from 6 to 8 for a nice blend of hip hop from both sides and many of them took me up on it. So for that I could never thank you enough man. When it comes to hip hop for me I'll put it this way, if I were to ever write an autobiography about my love for hip hop it would be titled: "It Started With The Wu."
