Another fact is that males are territorial, and will sometimes fight. I was lucky enough to witness this a few years ago. The two would try to grab the other by the mouth, and the winner literally threw the other off the fence they were on (he seemed uninjured).

I grabbed a female five lined skink and it bit me with her little mouth, it feels like a tiny pinch, and to some people it might hurt a bit depending on where they bit you, but in general it’s just a little “nowm” ahh bite.
