I noticed you didn’t use any fuses. The wiring instructions show having a 300A fuse between the battery power and the solenoid stud and a 15 A fuse between the brake power (also from the battery) and brake switch. Is this because you are using the car battery with jumper cables and not a stand alone battery source?
Here is my Q2B hobby fun setup! I used an 8 dollar Ford 4 terminal starter solenoid, and 2 low voltage 12v switches I bought from Lee's Electronics. LONG LIVE THE FEDERAL Q! Fast forward to 7:42 to get right to a little action! There is truly nothing like it. No matter how hard companies and departments try it can never be recreated or made more "efficient". I personally don't understand why anyone feels it needs to be removed. It works. And been proven to work for over 100 years.. It is dead simple. Why are there people (Dare I say the majority being people that don't use these for their purposes of work) trying to re-invent the wheel..? There is nothing about being "stuck in tradition" that follows this type of siren. The fact of the matter is that it works better than anything else that is tried. This mechanical siren has no need to be "modernized". End of rant. I'll upload a video of my Model 28 when I am done rebuilding it! Enjoy :)
Hi. I am one of your blind viewers. Where were you able to find your federal QB? Would you be able to do a video of you letting it wind up all the way and then doing the break but in an environment where it won’t piss off your neighbors.
Hi. I am one of your blind viewers. I am absolutely obsessed with Federal Signal Q2 be. I absolutely love the sound. Would you be able to do a video of you doing a full rather and just letting it wind down completely without the break?😅😅😅
WOLO makes a lot of reproductions of old emergency lights and sirens. Most of their catalog is one to one retired fed-sig products, nice to know they branched into grover
Hey! I used a small portable air tank (no compressor, just a tank) with some air lines and an in-line air blower that just went from my back seat through the window to the horn in my roof racks! It was not a permanent set up lol
Just scored a Hadley e tone for free. Was in a junk pile. Pulled off the back cap, cleaned out the wasp nest, diaphragm looked fine. Gotta set it off with some air.
