Great video explanation, I just followed it to setup the emulator and games, but i have an issue, when i start up the ps3 game from the desktop application the window/desktop keeps popping up in the game and then also the keyboard and arrow etc pops up when i start using the buttons, this is really frustrating, i cant play anything because of this, any idea how to play without this disruptions??
I had tried this method and power iso didnt recognize the sd card where i saved these files so I got a dolphin browser context menu add on that can mount and unmount isos. Power iso could be faster though because copying the files takes a long time.
Thanks for this. But after following all of your steps, the game still doesn’t load? It’s just a blank screen. This is on both direct steam and emulation station 😢
I’m have to try the iso thing. I had the ps3 file show like that while extracting but maybe my edge of time doesn’t run well because of that. Idk have to try it though. Great video though.
excellent video. subbed. i hope it works for mer. is there any way to exit a rom and go back to game selection list from emu station instead of going back to steam game library?
@@F15IDriver just press the start and select button together at the same same time. It should send you back to the Emmy deck menu. If not just press the steam button and then scroll down and press X and then close game on that open game not emulation deck.
@@Orbo100 yes until you run into the title at the beginning of the game and then the whole steam deck crashes. This was about six months ago so I don’t know if it’s any better now but unless you find information otherwise I wouldn’t risk it 😄
Any news on how to do this with the emudeck update? My screens alittle different and I cant click cloud service to get that window to select which streaming services to add. 🤦♂️
@@RagnarCrumpets you’re correct I was messing up some simple things lol but now I’m stuck on trying to emulate the ps2 LoTR Conquest game it gets stuck on the steam logo w the ring spinning forever idk and Deadpool for the 360 but I think I need bios files n it might work
@@acegold.8319 yep. I need to make sure your emulated updated and you have all the correct bias files in the right folders. Then you shouldn’t have any problems.
Dude this video rocks! Thank you very much took me a few hours to get absolutely EVERYTHING set up with like the custom art and widgets and all that. But for anyone who may have problems. Follow this tutorial EXACTLY and youll be good! Thanks again man!
Two things however, make sure to boot up the game in desktop mode and link the rom files through that first, it may not let you sign in on desktop mode, it will in steamdeck game mode. In addition, you do not need to extract the rom folders just make sure youre linking them when you launch the game in desktop mode.
@@racerx8410712 Depends on the game. Some games will auto save and others will give you the opportunity to save manually. and some will only save when you reach checkpoints in the game.
@@RagnarCrumpets just played Chronicles of Riddick and it saved the same way it saves on the console! I'm sure it's as you say, game by game. But as long as C of R has it's usual save points I'm happy. It's portable now! The Steamdeck is such a blessing to all of us gamers...especially OG gamers like me (47)!
I got one ps3 game installed but it doesn’t show up in my emulation station or non steam collection. Do u know how I go about making my ps3 games show up in my steam library and emulator station?
@@NedsonMonteiro obviously there's something wrong with your steam ROM manager and emu deck in general. Add me on Discord and I might be able to help you.
Oh I'm sorry to hear that my friend. I promise you this does work. Maybe you did something wrong? I would just delete everything and start from scratch.
Just wanted to come in and say I had the same issue. My problem was that the code you copy and paste clearly spells java with a lowercase j. I had my java directory labeled with an uppercase J. Changed it and it booted right up.
@@RagnarCrumpets FIFA Street 3! I'm pretty well versed in PS2 emulation using PCSX2 but this is my first attempt with any PS3 emulation. Albeit, great guide and easy to follow! Hopefully I can find a fix, or perhaps it just isn't playable.
@@catherineoconnor2046 Well, I highly recommend to check the compatibility page to see if it's playable on the emulator and if it is they will also have some tips to change the configuration a bit to make it perform better. And don't forget to check for patches as well. 😎
That's what I was using initially, but as I said in the video using the one already set up by EmuDeck I was unable to launch the games from emulation Station and even from the Steam library things would usually never launch or just crash. Using this method fixes that. It's clear the pathway to the ROMs folder and the executable for the emulator is not correct on the default parser. I think that explains it 😄
The best way to use EmuDeck is: don't. RetroDeck if you insist on keeping everything in SteamOS. Batocera on an SD Card if you really want the best experience.
+1 Comment & Like for the algorithm. For this new person, "Ragnor Crumpets" NGL I do like a crumpet, so I think I'll just refer to you as that if you don't mind. "crumpet"? is that OK with you? Edit -BTW I used to stream and built up a 350+ following on twitch and even set up a discord with 100+ members even though now it's pretty dead since I haven't streamed in a while, but I will be starting again soon, you are more than welcome to join and promote your channel.
@@KaiserSenpai420 I've only heard good things about Minecraft. If you want to play Minecraft story mode (great game btw) I recommend doing it off the PS3 emulator. I have a video for that if you need it. But yeah, Minecraft shouldn't be a problem.
I'm trying to play Little Big Planet 2 but the game continues to have popping audio and extremely framey gameplay. I've tried configuring the game to how it needs to be in order to play it on RPCS3 but Idk how to do debug configuration for the game, it isn't showing up. RPCS3 site shows how to do it for everything else except steamOS. I feel that is the only reason why my game is acting up.
I don't know if you watched the whole video but I addressed the popping audio problem and how to fix it. I don't know about the frame rate as I haven't got the game myself but maybe there's some patches you can apply?
@@narsoysauce_9769 weird. Maybe changing the local config. So left trigger on the game in the emulator and select create configuration. Then just apply the same audio settings. Also, did you install the game correctly? Iso, extract iso, extract PS3 file ect ect
@@RagnarCrumpets What Im saying is that I want it on my account when I play it, like you can mod the vita and still earn trophies and sync it to your account.
Kodi works pretty well, and has plug-in/add-on support; which is great for opensubtitles etc. Have also found that it can act as a server too; which allows me to see and play my files Kodi has access to from my Android TV UI.
Great video, I haven't got a steam deck or even using Linux yet, but this is great stuff. Thank you for sharing what you have learnt. Edit - +1sub & Like.
Thanks dude! I really appreciate the support. I only just started uploading and I just want to make super simple videos to help people enjoy their gaming systems to the fullest 😎👌🏻
@@RagnarCrumpets To be honest I was shocked when I noticed your sub count about halfway through the video you're a natural, I see great things for this channel, you're honestly very good at teaching and breaking things down for anyone to understand. I'm 100% switching to Linux when Windows 10 stops getting support. I've hit the bell also defo looking forward to more videos. GL Crumpet.
@@5izzy557 Well you're in luck. I'm uploading one right now lol. I see a lot of people complaining about not getting Xbox 360 emulation to work. So prepare for another incoming tutorial..... 😁
