prefer the look of rifle with two piece bases, I think Savage got it RIGHT. I do not think they should change their offering on bases or increase price for a rail.
I am a fan of larger diameter base screws and applaud this IMPROVEMENT. I have not had problems with two piece bases and consider it a win they are included. There are plenty of scopes that will fit... your ding is a non issue for me.
I will NEVER buy a gun where the safety does not lock the bolt. I refuse to look down at my action to find it hanging open, the round fallen out, and it full of trash. The real, serious, hunting rifles have this feature i.e. CZ/Sako/Mauser98/Win70/Ruger77
I own a Grendel but I have switched to 6mm ARC it does everything the Grendel does just better. Still my old stand buy is my AR 10 in 308 Love that gun more than any of my others.
Thanks for the vid. What's your opinion on the Savage Ultralight in 7mm PRC? Im trying to choose between it and a Tikka T3X lite stainless 7mm Rem Mag.
My .300 win mag Ridgeline is garbage. Ive tried many different factory loads and even the ones the manufacture recommended. Nothing but garbage results.
I have one of these in 22-250 heavy barrel,,I love the gun..But.the only thing I don't like about it is that black button to release the bolt,,is garbage, But..otherwise it is a great gun..
100% agree if there are other predator hunters on a property, people need to respectfully decline the offer or if asking and the landowner says there are already people hunting, thank them for their time and leave. I would also recommend educating the landowners of the reason why it is not better to have more people hunting the land for predators and how it makes it more difficult to call them in.
You said your using long beard number 5's at 60 yards stock choke. Thats amazing. I was shooting number 6's longbeard carlson .650 choke. 50 yrds best i could get. Tss stretched it out maybe 60 yrds number 9's
For Pete's sake...we went from blurry squatch style camera to never sitting still camera. Did the cameraman have too much to drink on this one or is that a new feature we can trust is going to happen now?😳🤣🤣🤣
Do you like your Tundra?? I've been wanting to buy a newer truck in the next year or so, struggling debating between a Tundra or like a GMC. The Tundra's cost a little bit more like older Tacoma's but I know that they are so reliable.
@SouthernExtremeTV hey man I forgot to ask I am kinda new to shotguns is there anything for an optic to put one on at all or can I get something for it just till I get used to it
Does this model have zero resetable turret or turrets ? Does this model have zero stop on one or both turrets ? I appreciate your time spent in responding, thanks n' God bless brother
Do you think an after market cap could be fitted over the body and overthe textured diopter... I'd rather not have bikini covers... ? As a freefloating cap is not ideal... To confirm does this has lockable turrets, zero resetable and zero stop or not ? I know the other larger model you have does not have lockable turrets... I appreciate your time spent in responding, thanks n' God bless...
Try this. I may catch flak for this from some old timers and purists of the fundamentals, but! Place your middle finger in the trigger well, and ride your index along the groove on the cylinder. It keeps your index pointed in a direction consistent with the barrel. I use a point method with my index this way with this weapon when reflexively shooting, allowing my first reaction to danger (scenario) shot be where I’m pointing my finger to reduce reaction time. That allows your ring and index to snuggly secure the grip. Give it a shot. Pun intended.
I'm not a hunter and although I've owned pistols for years, I'm new to the rifle world, so I'm hoping I could get some opinions on this question..... Is the 6.5 Grendel a good choice for a home defense rifle?
Not ideally no, it also depends on where you live, and if you have other people living in the house with you, or around you like neighbors and such. In all honesty, 5.56 is fine for home defense, if you're using hollow points that is. But even then, it still can go through walls, and possibly hit your neighbors house. 6.5 Grendal would blast through your walls and hit whatever stops it on the outside of your house. Don't get me wrong it's a great cartridge! Just not ideal for home defense. I personally use a Ruger 10/22 with a 25 round Magazine for home defense. But I also have other options like my 5.56 AR-15, my Glock 20 (10mm with Civil Defnese 60 grain rounds), and 9mm. I would just think about where you live, and what you need. I would suggest if you're looking for a rifle, a pistol Carbine might be up your ally. Otherwise 5.56 and 300 Blackout with sub-sonic loads are both suitable for home defense. All just keep in mind that firing a round off indoors can do some severe damage to your ears. Especially if you don't own a suppressor. That's partially why I use the Ruger 10/22 with sub-sonic loads, because it's less likely to blow out my eardrums in doors, as well as my significant others hearing, and I can consistently and accurately put rounds on target since 22lr has virtually no recoil as it is, especially in a rifle like the Ruger 10/22.
I coyote hunt in Alabama with a airgun. I've used some of your helpful tactics to get some coyotes. Keep the videos coming. Thanks from Alabama Airgunner.
