I don't know much about ballet so I might be wrong, but I don't think they are pink because they are trying to exclude dark skinned people, because white people (obviously) don't have pink skin, so it's not "skin colour" for white dancers too. I think in general it's because of tradition but (if it's okay in ballet) it's best to just have different colours/tones so everyone can pick what they prefer.

Ballet shoes don't come in anyone's skin color.

You should come out with your own line of pointe shoes that come in many shades of brown. I would definitely buy them for my daughter. The few brown pointe shoes I have seen aren’t a good match for her.

i'm a non-dancer so i don't have much knowledge about it... are pointe shoes supposed to match the dancer's skin color or is it supposed to match the costume or motif? i've always thought pointe shoes were universally one color only so that there's some uniformity in the dance.

Some of the most gorgeous ballet dancers I've ever met were black and brown skinned. The dance community needs to move forward a bit faster now that these issues are coming to light outside of the hush-hush unspoken rules of the ballet world. Inclusion for darker skinned dancers, different body types, dancers with disabilities

Ballet is from old Italy (16century) thats why the color of the pointshoe is pink. You can buy them now in all of the( skin) color; Bloch, Capezio.

Point shoes actually come in more than just ""european pink" they come in white, nude and chestnut and maybe more colors by now.
