View this channel for all things TRIALS. Regular uploads of local (south & south-east) and UK national trials events. Biased towards motorcycle trials, but you'll find sporting car trials, 4x4 and bike trials events covered by me on here.
I never knew the history of Surrey Heath & scrambling! Years ago we used to ride on the other side of the A30 which we called "The Old Dean", which is part of Bracknell Forest. Dave Thorpe would often Practice over the old dean.
Yes, and I think a lot of people copied him by riding on there, but it was never allowed, and the PSA warden in his brown Land Rover (Dave something Smith) was liable to give chase.
Thanks for posting ! Watching worldclass leaders alongside standard riders is the true spirit. Obviously, UK trials is a bit different from spanish landscape. A bit more wet !
Non-stop'ish! The burden on observers in judging when someone technically stops can be a difficult call. Many observers allow a ''little bit of bit of slippage'' if the rider is trying to maintain and then finds momentum. I think as long as observers are consistent in their marking across the entry, most riders respect it, but the sliding standard of what is a stop can of course lead to heated debates on how and when you call it a five.
Thanks. Your mention of Loudermilk has just invigorated me to look for it on Netflix, and woohoo, I found I can get it in the UK. I was aware Lissie was doing her occasional appearance as Lizzie Poole in Season 3, but hadn't worked out how to view it here. It was on my 'to do' list and now I've cracked that one so all that remains is to put feet up with a beer and watch it, and Lissie's appearance in it tonight. Big thanks!!!
Another good one Nige, you’ve saved me a walk! I must try and get up next year, I’ve got a black lab now and she needs to see some bikes up close! Hope to see you at Newlands Corner sometime this year?
Great to see these bikes in such good condition... I hope the industry keeps them going ... I would like to see the use of cheaper forms such as the royal Enfield indian bullet ( cast iron barrel) ... As these still can be had reasonably cheap ..,.😅
Thanks. Yes, did it last year and viewing figures showed it was well received. Those bikes can be a bit of a blur when you watch the vid' of the trial itself. Regards.
Hope you don't mind being shown having an off Alex? I never like to show a rider having a bad 5 without some balance of better rides as well, and there's x 3 more of you on other sections on there. I left it running as I could see you had a softish fall, and if I don't show you getting back on the bike intact, I always get 'the ''was he badly hurt''... type questions from viewers!
Thanks Pete. Fortunately, in the intro' text and not the video, as I didn't fancy editing it all over again. I'll be inadvertently writing 2023 instead of 2024 until at least June!
I can't speak with authority as I don't own it, but yes, I believe it is all Ariel Leader, which had that monocoque frame with the fuel tank within, and a 250 two-stroke engine. If you can imagine a Leader stripped of all the non-essential bodywork, this is what you'd be left with. It's featured in action on the Part 3 video of this event. Although most purists don't go for the sound of two-strokes, I for one think this makes a lovely noise.
@@NPMTrialsVideo The twostroke twin makes a very nice noice! I belive that the 250 Jarrow bike also sport an ariel leader engine. Its fun to se something different. Thank you for the very nice coverige of classic trials.
Good coverage one of the best trials shown on RU-vid and very local to us we live in Hawley and can walk there across the fields .The other link I have is that when I served my apprenticeship with the MOD one of my instructors was John Deal who also lived in Bexley Heath and I think he was one of the founder members of Sidcup Motor Cycle Club
Thanks for your words, and always nice to get these sort of stories. It'll be interesting to see if any Sidcup members reply to say they remember John Deal.
That brings back memories. I have observed at just about every one of the sections used through the years. Moved from Kent in 2012 to the Midlands. Few faces there that I still recognised.
Hi Chloe/ I remember seeing your fb posts as a Lissie ''regular' and having a tale of woe with car issues or something but eventually Cinderella did go to the ball and got a selfie with Lissie too! Glad you made it to this one, and a great track on a fantastic night!
