What an absolute joy to listen to. And so much fun to watch the video. You could definitely tell everyone was enjoying themselves! And then I about fell out of my chair when I saw the five string bass, which I did not know existed because I know absolutely nothing about music! Thanks for sharing Ryan
Hope you all enjoy this one! We threw this together with essentially no rehearsal and the drums had to be recorded after the fact because of scheduling. So this recording is very much in the spirit of jazz 😂 A shoutout to the musicians who joined me on this one!!! -Voice: Alberto Rodriguez -Bass Guitar: Kenta Shimakawa -Drums: Robbie Palermo
This is absolutely beautiful! Would you mind if I use it in a video in a few months? I would happily tag you and give credit in the description. It's going to be in the final video I post on my channel and I would love to use such a fantastic piece in a farewell. Also that's an amazing Smash Bros story in the description!
I'm currently learning the piece, my first impression was that it was super easy for the first almost 6 pages then the random super fast vivace section hit 😭
Fantastic recording! It's so nice to hear what the piece is like on a Steinway and to experience all these beautiful camera angles, too. ❤ 🗝 By the way, I really find 2:22-2:54 fun to play. Do you have a particular section you especially like to hear or play in this piece?
Hey man I'm using this as a reference as I learn more of this song, and I just wanted to say your performance of this piece and the entire Celeste Piano Collections book is incredible. I just wanted to say that I really appreciate these renditions. And as a beginner I hope to slowly learn a lot of these pieces as I get better. I'm starting with this one just because of how beatifully melancholy it is. (And also cause it looks the easiest 😅). Edit: I was also wondering how to get the choppy, not quite right feeling in "In The Mirror"
Thank you! Hope the learning has been going well! For the In the Mirror section, I tried to make it feel unstable by not playing the 8th notes evenly and also bringing out the bass note a little which is on the last 8th note of the measure so it throws off your sense of the meter/beat.
I feel that I would have enjoyed the video more if the fading effect of the falling notes was faster or lighter, because it covers almost everything and you can't see the rest, but in general a good interpretation ❤️
Hey man, great video! Im learning White City right now, beautifully played. If its not too much hassle, how would you rank them in order of difficulty?
Hey Levi! White is by FAR more difficult than the black mass. After every run-through of the white mass I always feel so physically and mentally drained... I never felt that way with the black mass.
Omg I did not expect you to all of a sudden cover one of my favourite scriabin sonatas. He made the most ethereal and mysterious music. And your performance was on point! Incredible dynamic range.
Oh awesome to hear I've got a subscriber that's also a Scriabin fan!! I love these late works so much. Glad to hear you think my performance was on point.
