We learnt our lesson during Covid when boarders were closed and we almost starved since we ourselves do not produce much so now we can to start producing some food for ourselves
Please let us as South Africa act big on this matter. It's not good for our neighbours especially the smaller countries to depend 100% on us. One of the issues is that our produce is GMO when it can be organic. But what happens when SA has a drought and they have excess because they are growing their Agro-Industries. We can't cry foul for trade partners not being able to consuming our produce.

Went to ABSA 2 years ago to open a bank account for my Government Pension. Had all the necessary documentation. They just said 'Sorry, you don't have the right documentation.' So I went to Standard. Took me an hour and that included waiting in the queue. And they didn't want ANY documentation - they got everything using my phone.
Botswana gets 70% of imports from SA. Apparently that is not enough, they must get basic food necessities from them too. This superiority complex by south africa will be its downfall. Leave Botswana alone!

America is in the building. The should be communication between all parties and warn all parties so that they can make plans. Im not against Namibia n Botswana wanting to do their own thing but tell each parties in advance or give them a notice.
im with wandile because he is speaking from a SACU perspective. Botswana and Namibia should Identify infancy and have a plan of when they will temporarily ban and open. Have a plan as a region, not as individual countries. BOTSWANA exports beef via s.a and if they dare decide to block this passage Botswana will suffer...

Respond in what way exactly, export embargoes? It will be counterproductive as we will simply import what we currently import from SA from somewhere else.
@@sellomosia6960 He's saying so because some South Africans are saying an embargo should be imposed on those countries. You have to understand that every country is responsible for the welfare of it's people and Botswana and Namibia importing what can be produced locally, is tantamount to exporting jobs. Unemployment is high in those countries, so it's better they keep the jobs within or else you'll have an influx of people from those countries coming to SA to look for jobs. The South Africans shouldn't complain or put up resident and work permit regulations for them as they are following their jobs.
