I saw that episode of Star Trek when it was first aired, and it melted my heart when I saw it. And every time I hear that music, it brings back those feelings and memories all over again. Absolutely beautiful! It makes one think that maybe, just maybe, there is some hope for the human species. Thank you!
It was and still is my favorite TNG episode and the music was a big part of the reason for that. To live a whole other life in minutes, like dreaming… The writers should have won an award for that. And I would think what made that special for Sir Patrick was to have his own son portray his son in the episode.
I can't believe that I watched Inner Light only yesterday, literally. Overwhelmed with strong emotions. What a story. A true masterpiece. I'll carry this song for life.
G Damn IT. This turns me , a 23 year Army Vet into a sniveling bag of crap. Season 5 episode 25 the best STNG episode ever. My family promised me that it will be played at my funeral. Our lives are over in the blink of a galactic nano second. Live your your lifes like tomorrow will not happen
It’s really strange, I watched this first in 1995 and it’s always been one of my favourite ST:TNG episodes but now watching that same episode and listening to this 27 years later, it just hits very different
I recounted this episode to a ST fan, they hadn’t noticed it much, but to me it was the epitome of excellent writing, excellent sci-fi, excellent ST - all of it. Just tugged every element to cement true masterpiece.
This reminds me of my father and the time we shared watching Star Trek, and me growing up with him teaching me so many things, how to build things, repair plumbing, we read the same books. He is forever in my heart.
I loved this episode the best of all, to become one with a civilization, to know it's history and demise, to have a family and see them all perish, I wish I could play this😢
Why do i do this to myself - the algorythmn knows im a trek fan, and what do I do - Im busy, have shit to do...then one of these gets shoved in my feed and an hour later im still sobbing going from one video recording to another. Well done to the soloist - she nailed it perfectly!
Almost none of the people I know understands this so it eases my heart and mind knowing there's a whole orchestra playing this beautiful melody to the audience. 🖖❤️🖖
I recently watched it with a skeptical Star Trek newbie. They simply loved it; Hooked on aTNG now. This might be the best episode to use when introducing people to Star Trek.
