I have this meter and am being billed for rate 1 Day and rate 2 night and rate 3 as another day reading, further to that they send me another bill for rate 4 day and rate 5 night saying i have two meters, the bill is nearly 4k, they separate the bill into two with two different MPANS but same meter i have established that much with them, they are unhelpful and treat me as a non payer because i refuse to pay for the other alleged meter until they send someone round to show me. My question is what is rate 4 and 5 for ?.
@@malik-qd6ds I found out its a dual meter, Rate 1 is Day and 2 is night, 3 is zero and you don't get charged, and 4 is day again and 5 is night, you get charged two daily service charges unless you ask your electric company to just charge for one. Its usually because you have storage heaters or underfloor heating so they class you as having two separate meters.
@@markmarkie3076 I do have a storage heating but no underfloor. So I should be getting charged only for Rate 1 and 2 ? Can I ask to be charged for Rate 1 and 2 only even though I have a storage heater?
@@malik-qd6ds Hi again, no they won't do that because you have two MPANS they class as two meters, rate 1 and 2 day/night for all your electricity in your house and a daily service charge, then rate 4/5, day and night for your storage heaters, you must ask them to only charge you for one daily service charge, its all very stupid but I had hell with them trying to sort mine out and trying to explain to them I only have one meter and how can I be being charged two days and two nights etc, it was hell, I refuse to pay until I fully understood, with mine I had a massive bill as had not been charged for rate 4/5 for years then they started it a zero !!!! , with mine, my rate 4/5 is storage heaters and boost on my water tank. You have two main feeds into your outside meter to change it you would need your home rewiring so your stuck with this bizarre and complicated method.

Wow! Things have certainly changed a lot from the 1970s. Vegetarians certainly existed then, but were barely tolerated. Students in those days paid for quantity rather than quality, and you could even buy beer in a bucket.
@@redheels3248 hi..no it shouldnt affect bill..the best thing to do is go to other supplier and get a smart meter. .then you wont have to read another meter..
