My name is Jamison. I am a professional FOH Engineer. I also am the vocalist in Brace Yourself but love playing guitar. I will be making videos around my band as well!
Really intersting, but I am a bit of an 'old-school' musician in a folk band. I was wondering how much control you have in-show, or does it just follow the pre-programmed to the click timing? I like to have the freedom to push the tempo, or maybe repeat a final chorus a few extra times if the crowd are with us.... can this be done with a setup like this or is each song fixed?
hello! Thank you very much for the video, I follow you in neural cloud but I don't have access to the preset, would you add me and share it with me? my username is Splatter (-Guitar player in Moloch Possession (Black Metal) -Argentina)
Studiolive 3 has same issue with network card...suddenly computer cannot recognize the hardware...then need to replace network card...but it will happen again and again...
Really cool and interesting video! I definitely identify as the "CEO of the band" and also feel the need to keep pushing with money and work. The idea to rent gear (and services) to other bands is pretty cool!
The thing Im wondering is what if your live shows are more organic, not just playing the album track, like you take a longer solo or drummer just keeps it rolling?
If only that mixer had 8 outputs. Maybe my 4 piece band can get used to mono for live monitoring. Do you bring your own drum mics? Or do you use the house mics and plug them into your setup? How to deal with drums quickly and efficiently with a setup like this has always been the biggest mystery
Made massive upgrades since this video. We now have 32 inputs with 16 outputs available. We bring everything ourselves and plug them in ourselves. FOH gets a snake with all of our inputs
I've been to many venues that have their mixers prepatched in a way that can be difficult to remove all the inputs and patch yours. Including shortage of extra inputs. How do you deal with that, considering the fact that in some cases you will be sharing the stage with some other band and there might be a 20 minute changeover?
Hey man! Super great video! I just got my Quad, and planning to run 2 guitars and a bass, for each output just like you showed, what would be the best cabling? XLR to XLR for input 1/2, and 3 6.35 to XLR to the FOH snake? ( No need of DI boxes?)
Great vid! Can you make a little video on how to make logic communicate with the QC's? I've tried it a little, but couldn't make it work. Probably some settings or so. In Ableton I could get it to work, but I live in Logic, so would be great if someone made a video on that. Can't find any good ones:) Cheers!
With the Scarlett being only two channels, click and tracks, does that mean you can only send one line of tracks to FOH? Say I wanted different EQs for different tracks would I need a bigger interface with more outputs? Or can you achieve it with the 2 channel?
Sounding great! Also not too much noise bleeding from the cymbals, how do you accomplish that? In my band the vocal mics are picking up a lot of drum noise, which can easily ruin an IEM mix
@@georgesnow Thanks for your tip. i used all Apple's adaptor. Firewire just have no support at all from Apple or Presonus. Its not an " adaptor" problem.
Just found this video and funny enough I think I remember a house party at Jareds house and I swear that was his garage cause we played Beer Pong on the single car door side and I remember Avoid & For The Likes Of You boys were there and this looks exactly like his garage with the TV on the wall too lmao.... This was 2018? I think.... Anyways! Great video! Thank you!
The QC has several operating modes. “Scene mode” lets you save a scene (capture a specific set and assign it to a foot switch. Eg: A-Lead Tone, B-Rhythm Tone, etc.). There are a few other modes like “Stomp Mode” which lets you use the QC as a “traditional” pedalboard, assigning each foot switch to a pedal (overdrive, reverb, delay, etc.) to switch it on or off. You also have “Preset Mode” which assigns different presets to different foot switches, etc. Hope this helped!
One think I ever ask to my self when planning a Light system: if I just have lights back there, the front of the band will be darkened… I mean, the face of the guys, the front won’t be lighted. But you video shows the opposite 😮 great system brother!
Bro this is so sick i’m trying to learn about how to run my own show and match to the music And in the same process i found a sick new band My day couldnt be better thanks man
I've liked Saosin pretty well since 2007, but I never cared to check out the first EP until today. Lost Symphonies is definitely the best song on the EP, in my opinion. So I just went around watching old videos of them performing it in 2005-2006. Finding this video was extra cool! I love FOH videos or when we get board uploads of the audio, sooooo good!
