On my channel I talk about books and reading from the perspective of someone that really wants to read. Im reading all from classic literature to booktube recommendations and to whatever books I want to read. There might also be more Norwegian and Nordic literature here than on your average booktube channel.
I also speak about the process of reading more and learning new things about the world of literature.
In addition you will also find the usual book hauls, tbrs, wrap ups and hopefully a lot of lists which I love!

Actually, the many "I"s and "me"s have a reason. In the Japanese version the narrator switches the pronouns he uses for himself ("boku" is a very informal, boyish way to say "I", and "watashi" also means "I", but it's more formal and more neutral).
Books really are magical. For this reason more than any other - they have the ability to change our perspectives and therefore, make a difference in our lives. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for this. I am an Irish lover of literature and currently reading K O Knausgaard has made me obsessed with Norwegian literature. I am reading all i can get of this and looking forward to visiting this great literary country
I bought the Spanish version (all other Murakami books I’ve read in English) and was disappointed. It feels like a complete different author. The first part of the book felt unnecessary. I’ve heard that English translators “improve” the books in the process I guess I’ll see when the English version comes out next November.

Have read about ten of his books. Top one for me is also 1Q84 but also loved Killing Commendatore. Fantastic author! Looking forward to November release...
I don't think you're boring at all. I found myself agreeing with you in a lot of videos, but at the same time, you got me thinking about things I hadn't really thought about before or thought about in that specific way, and I personally find that much more valuable than having controversial opinions.
I have read a few books on my iPad. I owned an old Sony e-book reader, about 13 or 14 years ago, and it’s the only e-book reader I’ve owned. I don’t like cheap plastic products, and there are only a few the e-readers with a metal body. I did like the design of the Kindle oasis, but Amazon killed it this year. as it stands, I just stick with reading books, physical books, unless I simply cannot get a copy of it at a reasonable price. Most books I read I turn around and give away to the library or sell to Half Price books as it has nostalgic value, or I plan on reading it again in the future
I discoverd your channel some months ago and enjoy your videos. They are different from what I used to watch. Maybe because I mostly watch French channels (I'm French) and people are often reading the same books . 😂 So, I discover a lot more and different books thanks to you 😊 tusen takk!
I think that is something that happens in all countries.. It's hard to completely look away from all books talked about in ones own country. Thanks for watching!
As a native english speaker, I found the translation great. E.g it’s common knowledge in the UK that fell is a northern English word that describe mountains most common in Cumbria and does indeed originate from when the Vikings colonised Cumbria. I actually think this is an excellent detail as he uses a word of Nordic origin.
Just curious - saw in one of your previous vids, and saw the edge again in this vid… you have an Orange guitar practice amp… are you a guitar player/music fan? Do you read related books such as biographies etc. I read a lot of music bios, not just bands/artists that I like. There are some great ones out there, and some real clams too. Really enjoy your videos. I’ve always read, but in the last year or so I’ve been trying increase my reading again… like it was years ago… so always keen to hear what others are also reading.
Hey! I love music, have been playing drums and guitar for a while. It varies based on my mood, but I have read a few music biographies/memoirs. They are spread out across my wrap up videos :) Thanks! If a book is at all related to music in any way Ill probably like it more than if it didn't. Good luck getting into it again:)
I wouldn’t call myself a photographer, but I have taken thousands of (mostly) bad photos. I enjoy instant (square format Polaroid,) and larger format B&W. It’s been several years since I’ve taken any new photos, because I have so many already. May I see your pictures? What is the channel name, please? 😺✌️
It has been a lot of fun watching how you have progressed in your reading life. Finding what you like to read but not being afraid to read something entirely different is one of the greatest joys in reading.
Well, I think that you haven't found your passion/calling yet, with YT or your books. I know editing is more work, but if you make something you love/passionate about, it shows. And I like your channel.
My favorite RU-vidr is also one of my favorite human beings, Scott Bradfield. Also a big-time critic and critically acclaimed novelist. A bad ass who never shows his ass. Nevermind his credentials. He's cool as hell. He talks to me all the time. And I'm nobody in the world.
You are an artist. Your videos are great. You are too. I have tried to do this, it is not for everyone. I write, I paint pictures, but my online persona makes me want to wretch. I am so uncomfortable doing it
- "Mom, I want to watch Pewdiepie book review!" - "We have book reviews at home!" ---> This guy. Don't meant this as an insult or as belittlement. I just found it funny to watch another book reviewer with a Scandinavian accent.
I thought First Law was good - perfect for fans of grimdark. Like you, I loved Logan too. Great characters in that series. I didn't think the trilogy was quite as good as John Gwynne or Robin Hobb, but still very good. I plan to read his 2nd trilogy.
@@becomingabookworm Hobb is much more Palatable than Abercombie, IMO. If you can get through First Law, you'll not only be fine with her first trilogy, but I also predict you'll like it more than JA.
"Exciting bricks" sounds like a fair way to describe Belgium 🤣 I think it makes sense that you'd be more tolerant/patient with a writer you know and love when they do something in a book you wouldn't bother with in another book, because since you've read and loved other books from that author, you've built some kind of trust that it'll still be worth reading in the end. With a new (to you) author, they haven't built that credibility yet, so it's harder to push through and give the benefit of the doubt. My favorite book I read in July was Knife: Meditations after an attempted murder, by Salman Rushdie. Listened to it on audiobook and it was a real gut-punch for me! I still need to film my monthly review and I feel a bit daunted by the task somehow 😅
Haha, it is at least the part that I enjoy the most! We only have one "real" cathedral in Norway.. Trust might be the right word for it, still I am reading whilst being annoyed and not really caring that I am annoyed. It´s all still a bit strange to me. I have wanted to read Knife, but everytime a book is hyped I lose a bit of interest. I don´t know why that is. Maybe Ill have to give Midnights children a go again before I get to Knife.. I think you just have to give it a go, I reckon you´ll do great!
Hei, leste akkurat en bokanmeldelse fra Nrk om en bok fra Lars Svendsen :Dumhet, Idioti og dumme idioter. Synes, at titlen høres morsomt ut. Fortsatt god sommer
I find it so fascinating what you said about finding your English voice more pleasant than your Norwegian one. I don't have an explanation, but I also feel that my English voice doesn't sound like my French one (although I'm not sure if one is more pleasant than the other ^^') - I wonder if it has to do with the sound of the language itself? And/or maybe the persona we adopt when speaking that language. For me, it feels different "in my mouth" when I speak other languages, like the placement of the tongue, the airflow, those kinds of things.
I think it might have something to do with the fact that I know my "faults" in the way I speak Norwegian, but when speaking English it doesn´t matter because everything is 50% in a sense. Absolutely feels different physically as well. What surprise me the most with making videos is how many times I say different words than I am saying in my head and I don´t really realize it before editing videos and hearing myself say the words.. Really strange.
I love wrap-ups for discovering books I may not have heard of or have forgotten about. Mini rant: I read a lot of books every month (15-20), and often get comments that I'm not letting the information sit with me, etc. The thing is, I've been a reader since I was six, and I've learned how I want to read. If reading one book a month is the right thing for another lifelong or newbie reader, then that's the right thing for them. In what is largely an individualistic world, the demand for conformity, even from those who consider themselves non-conformist, is staggering. The idea of it being a competition actually irritates me 😅. It's like you can't breathe without someone thinking you're throwing shade at how they are breathing. And to be honest, now that I think about it, I'm fairly sure my breathing technique is poor, but it (sort of) works for me. 😉
I thought of you while making this video. I guess you are the channel I watch with most books in your wrap ups, and I like it! I can only imagine the comments you might get. I get some of them and I only read a fraction of the books you read 😅 And I second the irritation you feel about the competitiveness. It´s just silly..
