Here in 2024 and still rejoicing in the 1996 genius that is Squarepusher. I really feel like Tom Jenkinson is to Drum'n'Bass what Miles Davis was to jazz -- a truly visionary one-of-a-kind, fearless explorer. Thank you Squarepusher.
Thanks for this!! I heard maybe one or 2 songs from this band but never really listened to their music but this came up on autoplay and I listened to it all in one sitting. Now i found out this is the exact kind of music im into. Thanks again
I still own this on CD. In the Bay Area we have two Amoeba Record stores, one in Berkeley and one in SF. In Berkeley we also had Rasputin's records. So I would obsessively scour for new Squarepusher every time I went. I'm not sure how many copies Amoeba got of this, but I snagged the only copy there in the bin and immediately went home and dubbed it to a cassette so we could bump it in the car. With my lo-fi electronic homies... we were just like "how is getting these drums with a stupid Boss sequencer?!".... My friend Chris says with eyes closed, hands out mimicking drum programming "Dude is just like the Jimi Hendrix of drum machines....". Yes. That was it. Motherphonking, Tom Jenkinson. Drum machine terrorist.
The intro in Ultravistor gives me such big chills man. I wouldn't mind an extended version of it, I can listen to that shit for hours, it's so beautiful!
idk if youre still active or will even see this but I really appreciate you putting these songs up and keeping them up, every few months or so I always find myself look them up again to listen to and I can't really find them anywhere but your channel. I'm gonna burn them onto a cd so that I don't lose them.
Thx for this honouring 9 hours video of our beloved compatriot Gautier and his fellow musicians. Laure Le Prunenec and Laurent Lunoir, are one of those extremely rarely talented artists. I'm proud to share my nationality with Gautier. He really is what modern music can bring as the most powerful, mystical, audacious, creative, gut wrenching, epic and chilling auditive experience.
everytime i put this album on while im doing something i have to stop at That Was Everything That I Owned. i have to stare into space every time it comes on, theres no other way to experience it. i dont even know why, i dont listen to a lot of stuff that sounds like it. i think its the Brainworms.
There he goes again with the Hungarian titles Sajtban means "In cheese" Bébikukorica means "baby corn" (nigiri is a Japanese word I guess?) and also Balaton is Hungary's biggest lake (prbably the biggest lake in Central-Europe) It's a famous tourist attraction
