what causes a round hole to develop after only a few uses? I'm going on pipe number 3 now. They are the cheap mass produced oil diffuser type. The seller offers only 10% off the next purchase. I used the first one 1 time only. The second one, after the first use a round hole again.
Hey Jay! I'm not sure what you mean. A hole should not develop in the glass. I have pipes that are years old that are the same as when I made them. All the best! Sim
I only had the torch, then i remembered i have a cigar glass tube. I dont think itll work, but im dam sure gonna try, lol Edit: so I was able to mold the bowl and push in the end. Was going for a steamroller. Unfortunately I only have a mechanics small pick set. Not sure if that's the reason I wasn't able to actually punch a hole through. It just keep pushing a bigger deeper hole. (I know a smaller flamer/torch would probably be the best way to fix that.) Does the pick have to be tungsten? And yes it did eventually crack and chip off. (I think I put too much pressure without letting it get warm enough to be maluable)
Who the hell has that funky stand to hold his map gas anyway😂! The entire first part I'm thinking shit what am I gonna do to get a stand .I then realized I am now stepping backwards w two issues I didn't even know I had damn it.I JUST WANT TO GET HIGH ,BUT MY PITBULL KNOCKED MY TABLE ALL HARD AND MY BUBB SHATTERED SHATTERED.NOW I see why drugs are illegal😮😮
I'm sorry to hear about your loss on the bubbler. The worst thing about glass is that that sh*t breaks into a million pieces when it gets dropped. I actually found a way better holder for the MAP can. An L-bracket and a pipe clamp. Clamp that bad boy to your table and you're good to go. All the best! Sim
How is that tube NOT cracking and falling apart!? I tried softening a bourbon bottle about an hour ago and the damn thing shattered into a hundred pieces. Are egg rolls the answer!? Its egg rolls isnt it.
Hahahaha I love this comment! Liquor bottles are made from a much softer glass than what I use. Any type of pipe/laboratory glassware needs to be made from borosilicate which is a pyrex equivalent. All the best! Sim
@@FusingShop Ok, so you answered 2 of my questions, but I'll keep both comments here for ezzz'z of egg roll logistics. So it's been like 2 weeks and I learned a lot about different glass and have since bought boro glass tubes to practice. Also, I did purchase some bad-ass torch head for like $16 and let me tell you! Night & Day my friend🤙 So far I'm bending some glass, gettin wine carboys in line and building a brewing area in my basement. Wish I had a RU-vid channel to share with everyone, but sometimes, ya just gotta Egg... 1 Roll at a time🤪
@@caburtnett1980 This sounds kick-ass my friend. Would love to see what your brewing area looks like when it's done. Eh having a YT channel is nothing special. It's a ton of work and then you have people criticize you for little reward lol. All the best! Sim
All i have to do is bend a straight lab glasswear pipe into a "U" shape to complete my apparatus and test my wine. I too have this MAP set-up from sweating copper. Do you think i got this? Im feelin pretty confident! Whatdaya think?
Hi Caburtnett! Depends on how thick that glass is. The MAP torch has some big limitations but it was fun to try out. Maybe a Hothead Torch would do the trick for you. All the best! Sim
@@RealGusOnDemand Lol I didn't detect butthole vibes. You can find the finished marble on my website www.thefusingshop.com. It's on the slideshow on the homepage.
Ok so my question is from the time you start your kiln for your days work can you make a video on what you do and how you use your kiln start to finish it's how long is each piece need to soak it's the basics I need.
Thanks Jerry! Yes alcohol is way cheaper but I find it doesn't work as well as Everclear. Give it a shot and you'll see the difference. All the best! Sim
There are no valves there my friend. I heard that you can get different tips for this torch to change the flame but I don't have them. Hope you have an awesome day! Sim
Hey ,can't read Comment replys, so Coe please? The one person asked about hot head and 104. I have oxygen n propane torch with 104, 96, float , so no 33 yet. Love it, very very pretty.
Thanks that was so easy simple and straight to the point I just tried it myself and first time it worked perfectly for me thanks again if I could find out how to include a picture if gladly show everyone what I came up with for my first time
I recommend a product called Grunge Off, which requires no alcohol, salt, or shaking. Simply fill the pipe with the solution, let it sit for at least 30 minutes, or overnight, and rinse with warm water. 😊
Awesome video! I'd love to know if that goes into an annealer or what the process is from there? I have a hard time understanding why some pieces need to get a kiln cool down and others seem cooled off to the point you could walk away and use it... Thanks!
Great video, I’m glad you included ventilation. I think your ventilation may be severely undersized though. A lot of fumes are likely still getting up in your shop without having a hood to trap them.
Hey Mantis! Thanks for your concern. I'm going to take another look at my setup. I would love to get a hood but it wasn't an option when everything was originally setup. Hope you have an awesome day! Sim
@@FusingShop Ok,better option then.My father is Chemistry teacher, and there are few borosillilcate testtubes….time to utilize them…Thnx for the suggestion bro💚
Thanks for the comment! I feel very blessed in life and I love to share what I can with others. If I can give 10 minutes of my time to help someone else feel a little better, than it's time well invested. All the best! Sim
Intriguing. I've never heard of this before. Looks like it might actually work. My only concern would be if any residue was left in the pipe that stuff does not look ok to breath in. All the best! Sim
