To complement my previous comment, I would add that in my opinion this century has great artists (Kanye West, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Marron 5, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Adele, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga , Alicia Keys, Coldplay, Amy Winehouse, Green Day and a few others). However, the amount of "musical trash" of recent years has never reached such worrying levels of mediocrity.

Only 13 artists over 200 million, all of them synonymous with great musical quality.
