I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle ru-vid.comUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.
I replaced mine with a Ms 18o adjustable carb from hipa and it runs amazing a little rich witch means it’s gonna be cool but still has all its power witch means it ain’t running to rich always run a saw rich lean over heats that’s what my dad thought me and that’s what the schools thought me
The other fuel line the vent line , I just got a saw like this and they have a bolt in the end of it where is that line supposed to go, I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to have a bolt in it ?
*Coming up on having had this saw for a year....am a casual user and bought it to cut up sections for bowl blanks. Easy to start, **Bestfor.Garden** also recommend even after storage for a couple of months. Simple chain tension adjustment. Just cut up some 20" Osage Orange, including ripping bolts in half (at an angle). Like butter!*

So frustrated woth my stihl. Took it to the shop where they lectured me on not flooding it. Meanwhile,I've been cutting wood for 30 years.. they bring the saw out and on full choke pull it 4 times without a burp.. I'm like this! "You just did what you told me floods it!" These new saws are junk.
@@dey4588 I should have come back to this. I did go back to have it replaced. They did do exactly what you said. I then learned how to unflood it. I haven't flooded it since. I then went back to my crew I retired from, who uses chainsaws regularly (and floods them, and then turn them in to be repaired) to teach them the proper way to do it. I've cut a lot of wood since then. We recently had a snow/ice storm where I live with a lot of downed trees and branches. I live in a mountain community at 6000 feet. I cleared the whole road for the snowplows with a Stihl Farm Boss
That metering diaphragm that you changed has nothing to do with your oil okay it's all about your fuel....you didn't do any work on the oil at all okay that was all fuel related ..need to get your caption right with your actions
Working for an authorized Stihl dealer, I would have done the 28 step Stihl Engine Check after the initial observations, instead of jumping right into disassembling the carb.
You can verify that everything has been removed and out of the way, but it is also possible the the carb gasket is sticking between the carb/chainsaw. It might break when removing if you need force.
Good point, could have also unscrewed and checked the needle carefully without losing the spring, and cleaning jets. Tho most often here, it's the membranes that go bad or the small filter filled with gunk.
