Interesting to see this 3 years later. Orgeron is long gone and Harbaugh has repeated success though no Natty. I’ve seen the discussion elsewhere. What is better? Sustained success and conference championships or NC surrounded by flame outs?
What a blast from the past. The old set will always be a classic. Josh will you ever bring all the videos you did on this channel back? Like a archive. That would be pretty sweet.
The best leaders are the guys that surround themselves with great guys and then give them direction and then turn them loose. I was wrong about Coach O and can’t be happier admitting it. Most underrated trait of great coaches is instincts. Coach O seems to have that in spades. Throw in his ability to motivate and you have something special. This was a special team and a incredible year!
You did not mention the Dallas Cowboys in your example of prideful owners who can't seem to get it together. Oh, you were talking about coaches.... never mind. Great perspective! As a former high school coach in Texas, I saw where some coaches were very good at motivating kids to buy into their systems and were very successful. Most all of them led the team but let the coordinators run the show. That is something most coaches cannot do, especially successful players who became coaches.
Wow. This is great insight. You really are good at seeing past the bull. I was just recommended to your channel. I am a dad of a great HS football player but I feel kinda out of my depth as he is getting all of this local attention but I don’t know what to tell him to get college coaches attention. We are very much not wanting to be helicopter parents. I just know this has to be his journey. I also have learned this college thing is all about who you know. He was number 3 in the state for 5A RB rushing yards at 2056 and 27 TDs. Runs track and 4.31 laser timed 40. Any suggestions for him or myself would be great. I’ve been told we are in a black hole for media and may not get noticed despite his hard work and numbers. He is Wenkers Wright of Floyd Central. Class of 2021. Twitter is @wrightwenkers and Hudl is www.hudl.com/profile/8852930/Wenkers-Wright thanks for any suggestions. Also here is a -laylist with his adoption story from Haiti amount the videos. ru-vid.com/group/PLdKoAkK8-JWOJeuu4KwLtaFj9_5uyEdlk
Annnnnd Joe Brady just went to the Carolina Panthers supposedly. Hope Steve E. learned all about Brady's concepts and such to keep this offense rolling.
I think it's time to re-visit this video post. So, let's ask your question again, Josh: has Coach O outsmarted everyone in college football? To that I'd say "yes" and he also kicked everyone's ass along the way! This is the greatest team I've ever seen in the history of college football. How can I say that? Easy...give me any previous national champion that Vegas would have as a favorite going up against "this" LSU team? That tells you all you need to know. This offense is virtually unstoppable and the defense is no worse than a "bend at times but doesn't break" while still creating some big plays. They simply outmatch any team I've ever seen in the past to where others can't keep up with them for 60 minutes. I was at the game, and I can't tell you how many times I saw the Clemson defense huffing and puffing to suck air. By the fourth quarter Clemson's defense was exhausted - they were wiped. I knew at that point "this game is over." It's been like that all year for LSU. Legendary!
that is exactly what happen at USC and why the let him go, they said all he did was hire good people and that's how they won. Well look at USC now, Coach O was too dumb to be a head coach but now LSU is LSU, and USC is also ran middle of the pack. Good for Coach O. Thanks for pointing it out. That's a Head Coach putting the best people in a position to produce a winning product. Thanks again. A USC fan....
In retrospect I must said this very video had set the narrative for the season for me . Your understanding of both coach O and Dabo was so completely spot on that this very video left me believing that those two “Morons” and their two incredible teams would be meeting in an epic showdown for the ages .
Are you kidding me? You had me right up until the point you proved your own ignorance when you said michigan was worse under harbaugh. They're much better under him just study the stats, it flat out obvious that he's a much better coach than anyone they've had in a very long time. I'm an ohio State fan tried and true, but you sir are an idiot.
$100 if you point me to the spot in this OR ANY video where I said Michigan is worse under Jim Harbaugh than they were before he arrived. Actually make it $1000. Bold strategy to misquote someone, have zero clue what you're referring to, and then call THEM the idiot.
Got to see LSU next year, can he follow it up with out holy Joe,if he can change my view if he is a one done, got good start.sec west going to be a killer next year, see all the recruiting.
I'm curious to see how LSU will do without Burrow. Is this just a "magical season", or is it the start of something great and sustained? Time will tell.
He surrounds himself with good coaches they say. This guy could be the best coach in the country. He turned around USC and you can bet the wish they would have kept him.He wasn't given a job with the cupboard already stacked like Day from Ohio State. How good of coach would Day be if he had to actually build a program from bottom up ?Orgeron just seems to be a good old fashion football coach. The kind of coach you'd want to see your son play for.
USC probably wishes they hired him. Instead looking down their noises at him. He was winning at USC as the interim coach there. They had to hire Steve Sarkisian to make a splash. They should have looked at Clemson hiring Swinney. If USC could have looked into the future they would have gladly hire Ed Orgeron. USC could be where LSU is now instead of being in flux.
Coach Day at Ohio State also comes to mind. Not that Ohio State necessarily needed turned around, but they are playing a lot better than under Meyer. And this is Day’s first head coaching job ever! I hope it’s Ohio State and LSU in the Championship game. That would be fun!
And look what he did AT Alabama. Louisiana has the highest number of players per capita @10K people going in the NFL than any other state in the country and he speaks the langauge.
"he hired the right people and then he got outta the way" its right. he delegated, he knew everyone had a role and a job to do LSU'S 2019 SEASON OF DREAMS: PT.I HOW TO BUILD A DYNASTY / THE WILDERNESS YEARS www.andthevalleyshook.com/2019/12/13/21021316/2019-lsus-year-of-dreams-pt-i-how-to-build-a-dynasty#comments
That’s why I disliked Les Miles all those years. Heck of a recruiter and had soooo much talented players around him, but his pride got in the way every game and his philosophy was outdated and stale and he was unwilling to change his scheme.
Past couple of years big 12 runs mobile quarterbacks and no defense and rest of the country and sec claims big 12 sucks and run no defense. 2019 lsu runs a mobile qb with no defense and every claims ed is a genius lol
You do realize that he took over a football team that still a very strong team, and no matter what will have talent because of the recruiting pool surrounded by him? Jim took over a nightmare at Michigan. All of the talent went south of Michigan b4 Jim got there. I'm so sick of hearing people talk like Jim is doing so bad. When you have teams like Ohio State to compete against for recruiting especially after the Brady joke disaster it will take time to get to this God level people expect from Jim
I do realize that. I also realize when you’re 5 years in the ENTIRE PROGRAM is a reflection of you. Staff, roster, culture, etc. is all Harbaugh now. Anyone still mentoring the name Brady Hoke today is actively looking to make an excuse for Harbaugh.
@@TheLateKick ok..and their weakness was his offense. Again "his" offense..I'm sorry but It takes balls to be a coordinator and a head coach, especially when u r reviving a footbal team. But he realized it and stopped being stubborn and went and got a great coordinator. Harbpugh is a great coach, and if he had the luxury of taking over a very great team cough urban Meyer cough and in this case lsu, I feel like everybody would be wearing them some cacky pants . Just plz stop the nonsense take a egestep back and realize that harbpugh is doing just as good if not better than most coaches would be if they were in his shoes. And remember, Osborne wasn't one of the best college football coach's after 5 yrs
