Did a lot fishing in Baffin Bay in the 90's. Absolutely wonderful wade fishing and by boat. Using live shrimp wade fishing was phenomenal! Had stringers of trout that would pull you around. Drift fished the shoals and caught trout, reds, black drum, and flounder. Some of the best fishing in my life. Baffin Bay is a great place to fish, especially when you find your spots. You know your in the right area when you see local guides hitting the same area. Tight lines!
Splurge and get a cordless impact driver. My god, it was so painful to watch you drive those screws. If nothing else, do it for the integrity of your hands. And clamps instead of your hands as a backstop. Every time that bit slips out of the screw head, and you’re pushing against the screw to drive it in, you risk impaling your hand with the driver. I’ve done it. With a flat head… it went in like a knife, and kept spinning. Like $150 for a good driver, battery, charger, and quick release bit.
Here is another great video but I be damned if he lets us know where some good spots are to start fishing at!!!!!For out of towners that’s the problem with locals I. Texas coast line I help everyone s I can on lake Texoma as far to take the. To exact spots or give go’s coordinates what to us even giving away lures do they will come back that’s our economy money I e bed. Down on Texas coast last 4 times a d got skunked I hv top of the line equipment and lures and try very hard I’m strictly catch and release just want to catch fish I know I’m in Good areas I know. Don’t let us know where to start I’d hate that mercy locals think people line me that come 2-3 times a year will catch all the fish in the bays I even carry a trash bag to pick up y’all crap I come across thanks though
No sir that's not the problem. The problem is if I tell everyone where to go they show up on when I'm on trips and they are mostly rookies. Not catching just disturbing. Time on the water is your friend to learn.
Headed to South Padre Island/ Port Aranses the first week of march for spring break and want to do some fishing. Seems like this would be the way to go! Anyone have any spots or advice?
Just watched latest video from Australia, Shark attack in 3 feet of water! I know I know your going to say no sharks where your at lmao. Good luck and tight lines
We have sharks but the odds of a incounter isn't worth thinking about it. I've caught my fair share of bull sharks in my bay. The sharks are more scared of us than we are of them. If I hook one in the area I move because they can be a little invasive and territorial when around. They run fish off.
Yes give me a call when your ready. 361 236 3397 Fishing only gets better as it cools. I suggest wade fishing. Fish become slower and lethargic as it cools and the boat tends to run past them on drifts. Much easier in the water if you want a real experience.
You could have done this much easier by literally doing 50% of this build, Image it as the letter "L". Two washer, spacer and locking nut on the exterior side and interior side. Followed by a flange washer then your string, another flange washer, , a flat washer, your spring another flat washer and a Locking wingnut or a cwibg nut backed with another nut
Tassos Manolas. Dear Matt.I bought a second hand Ocean trident 15 one month ago after having for two years a Hobie Sport. The filling is that this kayak have spaces to play .stability and i hope enjoy it .Thank You for your nice video. Manny greetings from Athens Greece.
I've only fished port o conner one time. I honestly can't tell you directions from there. I will say if your willing to make the drive to port aransas or padre Island that both packery and port a jetties all rigs are within sight.
No, where I'm from we don't have shark encounters in the bay. Don't get me wrong there are sharks in the bay in texas but for the most part your looking at blacktip, bullsharks, and bonnethead sharks that come around and most you would run into one in a deep channel or out in the open bay on a deep sandbar. Other than that they are not a problem and Nothing to worry about.
Yeah it was. It's not everyday you run into a big school of fish that is actually feeding. I had a outstanding day. I appreciate you watching. If you could please share the video that be awesome.
I have a 7 ft diaoaw shock rod it’s a medium slow . But it’s like so flimsy . What kind of action and power would be best for a popping cork rod . Also the line . As well . I heard if you have a bendy rod, use braid as the main line and lossen up on drag . But I’ll be honest man I’ve caught way more fish on monofilament with speckled trout . Than I have with braid for some reason . It’s like once they even feel that tension from braid the big ones spit it out . I’ve caught all my 20 plus and up trout on a h20 rod with monofilament as my main line . Crazy cause idk how but it may be cause it’s got more give to it . I caught one downtown Corpus Christi yesterday in 40 degree weather . Got her up to the concrete steps and she spit the hook but I got to see the whole body . Second biggest I’ve ever caught I know it was more than 22 had to be . I’ve caught one 29 inch before just shy and man let me tell you a circle hook is the only thing that probably helped me land it . I just got lucky . Released them both . Bastard bit me in the finger right before I let her go ever since I caught that trout of a lifetime I’ve had the urge bad to experience it Again . Definitely understand how that feeling is different from anything else . It’s why we all fish . Anyways nice videos . I have a kayak myself I gotta get out more
For using a float the firmer the rod the less play in the line so the float will almost instantly have a reaction, but that doesn't mean using a light action rod doesn't work it just means you need to possibly whip it a little harder to get the same effect. If you noticed in my video I whip my rod fairly hard because it has a sensitive tip. Now whether to use mono or braid. Your absolutely right mono out preforms braid because it has some stretch to it, it does sink as braid doesn't, also a clear mono is harder to see in the water. Only reason I don't use mono anymore for my main line is you can't get the strength out of it on those bay reel setups. If you put 20lb mono on a reel you won't have as much line capacity and you won't be able to cast as far as using braid. Other than that I'd say use braid and just make you a fluorocarbon leader or mono leader and you'll have the same effect as using mono.

Great video man. Hell of a big ugly there at the end. I’m always launching from those same billboards outside Portland. Fantastic fishing out there in the Back Bay
Thank you for the nice video. Being an out-of-stater, I always appreciate hosts giving location of launch points. I'll be watching more of your videos. Keep up the good work.
