I do wonder, was the green light wait to make sure Sam would be able to commit to both MN and season 4? Since this song was recorded right before his surgery.
God i love this song pls sam make a full versiom im begging obviously after everything heals from the cancer and what not but your songs are a treasure
I think this song sums up all og my emotions about this show: The impossible made possible. A story made by friends, an adventure told. I could stop right now without Vecna and I be happy.
People are complaining that we didn't get Bard's Lament (even though Sam Riegel has said multiple times that he didn't like that moment since it made the whole table uncomfortable), but I think Scanlan deciding to go on tour with Kaylie fits the theme of the show a thousand times better than Bard's Lament (everyone deciding to go their separate ways but agree to join back up if something happens and no one looks like an asshole with main character syndrome (and yes, that is what Scanlan was during Bard's Lament)).
This. Also they didn't know if they get a Season 4 until recently, it makes sense they didn't wanna end with Scanlan committing what in the show would have been character assassination and screaming at his friends.
@@goji253 also Sam said on Beacon's discord that he recorded this the day before his throat surgery... He hadn't even started his cancer treatments yet... Forget whether they were going to get a 4th season or not. There may have been a question as to whether SAM would be around for a 4th season... I wouldn't want to possibly end the last thing I do with my friends on a negative note.
Also with so many changes made, it just didn’t make sense with the way the season panned out. Like sure, they were not always kindest to him, but Pike and Grog really showed up for Scanlan in the show. Plus, Sam is on record saying that if Pike was there things could have gone differently, which she was in the show. Also, in the stream Scanlan was struggling with addiction and they covered him in flour and feathers before he woke up form being dead. The conditions just weren’t right for it to happen so why try to force it.
Main thing I've noticed is that this fandom has a lot of what I'm just going to call 'Campaign Puritans' that don't realize things like Bard Lament, Keyfish, and the terrible prank would make the characters look so bad you'd pull them 'out of character' and alienate the viewers who are not familiar with the campaign. A lot of OOC things happened at the table as well, Tal especially is guilty of this because he was one of those conflict gremlins that just wants to create friction in C1. Anyway, what worked at the table might not work in a story. I absolutely loved the ending and I'm glad they didn't do Bards Lament.
0:32 *Vox Machina may have been renewed for Season 4, but I feel like this song is the perfect ending for the series… well, at least for this saga until the next which is the fourth season.* 1:23
makes me think they ending it as perfect as it is cause they didn't know if they would have gotten a season 4. (the post credit scene prob was made BUT not put in TILL they knew season 4 was confirmed.)
@@ScarletPendragon97 I only write them, but the vocals and tunes are created with a small help from technology! In the end I wouldn't be much help to such an amazing team!
