I'm curious as to what motor is in there. Looks like a nice restorable truck but should have frame inspected thoroughly first. The frame is the truck's backbone. Also find out if frame is reinforced and what design frame is on there. Usually dump/mixer and/or 6X6 tractor frames are heavier than on-highway model duty frames, with deeper "C" channel web sections and thicker web sections and flanges, maybe even higher yield strength in the frame steel alloy than a standard on-highway duty tractor frame. Previous owner history would be useful. I always like the clean and sturdy design of the IHC Paystar 5000 series tractors! I wish they still made them today.
@petermalanchuk8210 engine wise I believe it's an 8v92 detroit or the 8v71 I don't recall what the frame was like however being a northern truck running the salt belt it was probably pretty rough
Looks to me a 664 clark 353 Detroit' early mid 70s or 666 with a 453 Detroit serial number is stamped on the frame on some i have had behind the cab by the top center pin and on the builder's plate inside by the winch control? Or steering blade lever?
The Pete looks to have a Cat model 1673. The Mack looked to have a Mack tip-turbin 300hp or the 285plus engine. The Mack most likely had a Mack 6sp giving good control to the winch. Luv those old work trucks.
That gearbox is a Mack 6spd Mud stick 5 gears in reverse 5 forward gotta be extremely heavy or nasty off-road conditions for LO in the compound I would use compound LO and 1 st or 2nd gear in the main for curb pouring when I drive a DM 686 sx Mack Mixer truck perfect speed for doing curb pouring the good ole days drivers today have it made AC auto gear box nice plush interior bullshit to all that I’ll drive an ole Mack anytime
O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 Checking out your channel. Nice Camaro. Mine was a 77 with a 350. Love that body style! Nice Harley as well, even though I’m not much of a motorcycle fan. One can still appreciate a nice bike though! I am a Dodge Ram fan! Blessings.😎🤩✌️
O-H-I-O Porters🇺🇸 Checking this video out again. Is there an update on this fine old truck? I haven’t looked yet, but I shall after this. Would be a shame to let this rig set much longer. Would love to hear it run! I have gone from owning 2 trucks two years ago to 6 old trucks now. My brother passed away & I’ve taken over his trucks. I sure have my work cut out for me. Hope you’re well my friend. Blessings. 🥰😎✌️
When you see a Mack R-Model and/or DM model, the twin stick transmission is a 6-speed which is a 5-speed main box w/ compound gear (or it can be a 5-speed w/ overdrive). Nice find.
Dodge ram 1500 5.2 is good until 200,000 thousand miles, and then comes the real problems. The transmission issues and the plenum gasket problems. Keep in mind that Dodge didn't make it easy to work on these trucks.
