Owning a 226 navy and love it. Love the229 as well but think I should buy something different from the226 anyone own both? Is the difference that noticeable or should I keep the 226 and go for something different?
In my personal opinion it all depends on the operator of the firearm, but in my preference I would definitely prefer a semi automatic over a pump action shotgun any day, also, i'm a huge fan of shotguns that does not have that ridiculous dust cover where you loading the shells at.
I’m definitely interested in that rail. I have a 516 that is maybe a late gen1 or early gen2. It has the big solid gas block with the bayonet lug. I have also found that the gas block is slightly canted to the right and my rear sight is pushed to the right to get it to group, especially through a Romeo5. I was worried that I was crazy though. I thought about selling it because of cycling issues with ammo that isn’t 5.56 62gr or heavier loads and the weight of the front/feel of the pic rail. However, after being used for my daughter’s gender reveal (before she was born) and my oldest taking his first deer with it, I don’t see me getting rid of it. Maybe the Midwest rail will breathe new life into it.
I think we sometimes get too deep in the rabbit whole. While I do agree with most of what was said. Adding a different guard for me was pretty sweet. Was about to add a verticals grip and plan to add a flashlight. It’s when you start changing the barrels and adding crazy sights where I feel you start messing with the performance of the gun. The iron sights on this thing are extremely accurate and me personally never really liked optics. Stupid expensive and the batteries are always dead 100% of the time . Every time I’ve gone to the range with my buddies that have one their batteries are always dead. Seems like an extra unnecessary problem to encounter when you need your weapon .
Best review I have seen on these two guns. Thank-you so much. I am deciding between these exact two guns right now. I was and am still leaning towards the UPS as well. Newer isn't always better!
This is my EDC holster and so far I love mine. I carry a Ruger SP101 so an accidental discharge isn't a big concern for me and it has a small recession by the hammer that the strap fits on perfectly, securing the gun extremely well. I appreciate your demonstration with the hammerless revolver, however! If I'm wearing my zippered hoodie, I usually wear it under my armpit which does unfortunately make me awfully hot by the end of my walk since the band is wrapped tightly all the way around my torso. If I'm wearing a regular hoodie or just a shirt, I tuck the belly band all the way down my pants (works with both jeans and sweatpants) so it is completely concealed or maybe the very end of the grip is exposed. I'm even able to fit a speed loader in the pouch though I only do that when I'm carrying under my arm so that there isn't a lot of bulk around my waist.
USP is timeless! I don't think the design itself or the TLR-4 look or feel clunky at all. I run an X300U on my USP 9 Tactical and it feels and runs amazingly.
With a natural feeling high grip there is a very unpleasant hotspot from the bare metal of the left corner, into my hand/thumb. I actually just molded a little rubber cushion just for that hot spot and wrapped the whole grip in hockey tape. It actually looks pretty decent haha. The Hoage grip also completely mitigates that issue but i hate how big it is- like you said, that completely destroys the reason to have a small j frame. Edit: quick typo
One i just ordered is just like yours except it dont have the fore grip thats all ima do with it and i have a bad ass scope with lazer holographic and scope, ibwant to change the lazer to a flashlight unless i can put it one rhe other side
Why does every RU-vid gunny take their eyes off the target while reloading. They all look very awkward fumbling shells while not keeping an eye on the target....heaven forbid that target can move you are toast😢
First time I saw one of these it had the surefire forend and all… and I walked away. I regret it. Saw another and jumped on it. I knew the seller even and it was well kept but dusty. Probably sat in the same a decade or so. I didn’t have time to clean and lube it before trying it out. On top of that, I asked for the cheapest buck and slugs they had. Slugs were sterling and the Buck I’d never heard of the brand. Both had some cycling issues. It would eject and act like it was empty. But you could charge it again. No double feeds or anything though. Assuming that was a lube thing because it felt sluggish to me. I definitely would like some oversized controls, but am very happy I picked it up.
this is truly a rare beast. i got a police trade in for 600 a few years ago. yours is in much better condition. mine has a lot of scratches from LE use. the hk roll mark is really cool. very reliable shotgun.
sorry about everything man. I hope you stay strong. btw i copied you and bought a Vmac but i got the 45 model. can you link me the stuff to get the brace you have or something like it?
I got this for my 300 blackout to run subsonics & I got it for $239 with discount code guntalk20 when it was on sale for $299. With transfer fee & tax stamp it came to $489. To me it was worth it because I paid a little more than that for my Sparrow 22 a few days ago. Side note, I got approved in just under 24 hours & had my sparrow in my hands a day later.
